Is Mayor Barrie Tilghman Lying To The Public?

Last night at the Democratic Club Meeting Mayor Barrie Tilghman released, (for the second time publicly) that the spill started on the 7th and was contained on the morning of the 8th.

That being said, I immediately wrote that down in my notes. The Daily Times stated clearly in one of their articles that the spill started the morning of the 8th and was contained within 20 minutes.

I was originally told it did in fact start on the evening of the 7th and it was contained by the morning of the 8th. I even have a message on my answering service describing an interview with Mr. John Pick where he explained how the pipe burst and the water was spraying up like a fountain.

Now, that being said, my mind tells me that these people went home from working all day at the WWTP, the pipe burst, the sewage was coming out of the pipe like a fountain ALL NIGHT and when they got in the next morning, OH SH!T! They fixed the pipe and reported it to, well, who knows who? That also explains how residents in Eden could smell the raw sewage the evening of the 7th, yet the Mayor claims that wasn't the case?????

Now, The Mayor got on PAC14 during their Monday Night Council Meeting and stated the very same thing, it started on the 7th and was contained on the 8th. She's covering her a$$ and the MDE should know about this. ON THE RECORD she is very slick like letting the public know this leak did in fact start on the 7th and when I called a friend of mine this morning to see if they heard her say the same exact thing last night, they not only CONFIRMED the Mayor had in FACT said that, they also wrote it down when she did.

Ladies & Gentlemen, there's a damn good reason the bacteria count is so high in the river right now. I believe, (I'm NOT an expert) that the Citizens ARE being lied to, as well as the MDE.

I was told this morning while trying to confirm all of this that Mr. Caldwell, (the Director of Public Works) is also claiming the high count is because of pigeon poop. It took no time at all for Barrie to convert this man, so from here on out, this guy is no longer trustworthy.

For those concerned, you can contact the MDE, Mr. Dave Pushkar at, 410-901-4020 or at dpushkar@mde.state.md.us and let him know you're concerned. This has got to end and I want the MDE accountable as well.

Yeah, combine all that with the "mistaken" numbers (in gallons) reported originally and it kinda makes me say "Hmmmmmmmm".

So to sum it all up we have mis-statememnts by the mayor, miscalculations by the plant operator, and numbers higher than expected from the MDE.... Like I said "Hmmmmmmmm"

Let us NOT forget the huge drainage pipe on Waverly drive the mayor is trying to push through the council.
Good thing that thing wasn't up & running at the same time of the BIG rain last week that's supposed to account for much of the high bacterial count in the river.
