Murder In Parsonsburg

I have covered several of these type of stories but quite frankly, this one saddens me more than any one I've been to yet.

The deceased, (John Doe) was shot once in the head and twice in the chest. He is a 19 to 21 year old, 6 ft. tall white male with reddish hair. IF you know of someone matching this description and has been missing overnight, please contact WBI or the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

Allegedly a neighbor heard three shots around 3:00 AM but ignored it. At around 9:00 this morning he went to get his paper and saw the body 10 yards deep into a field right next to his mailbox.

I know more but I cannot share that information as it could interfere with the ongoing investigation. Besides, it really doesn't matter at this point anyway. I will add more photos of the scene but I will say this, this is very sad. This is something you would see on TV or in the Movies. This shouldn't be going on around here and I hope they find the SOB or SOB's that shot him.

I'll close with this. These people knew what they were doing. I doubt even if I tried, I couldn't hit someone even at close range the way they did this young man.

This is really scary I live in a nearby town and to think that a person that would murder a 20 something kid is really terrifying. I mean this person could be in my backyard. I hope they find who did this, keep us updated Joe so maybe we can help keep our ears open and maybe help find this person or persons who did this.

this saddens me greatly. I live in the area and this is just unbelievable

Crime is running rampant in this area, especially in the city. Im considering a move!

Does anyone think this may be linked to Wicomicogate?

it has crossed my mind... lets hope not.

I moved to Wicomico county several years ago from the Ocean View area, and would proudly tell my friends about what a nice area this was. Now, between corrupt or at least inept politicians and officals of government, crime, HIGH TAXES, I'm seriously considering moving from the house I love to somewhere less complicated. Sad but true.

I grew up on that street and it always seemed so rural to me. It's sad to see a crime as such happen there. It is a testament to how widespread crime is in our area. So terrible! I hope this man is identified and vindicated soon.

And people wonder why prosecutors in all states I know of are given the option to CCW.I'm no prosecutor but, never leave home without it.

Sounds to me like a gang hit! But of course this can't be possible because Barrie says we don't have any around here.

I don't know about a gang hit, but it certainly could be drug related, formal gang or not.

I have heard that "2 to the chest, 1 to the head" is an execution style.

Or, it could be execution style done over another disagreement other than drugs, and shooter chose that style having learned about it.

Anybody know if I'm correct about it being a known execution style?

This is very disturbing on so many levels. Somebody will likely be mourning a child and maybe a brother.

People already saying bad things about this are, did it ever occur to you that because this is usually such a quiet part of the county that people decided to do this where they did. Most likely the people that did this aren't even from here and the victim may not be either. Most people don't kill others in their backyards they take them somewhere quiet to do it. I hope that the person that did this is not from here, it is always possible but I hope not.

Good lord, wicomico has gone mad. If this isn't drug related it will be a surprise. I hope it isn't connected to the Great Landfill Theft. Rick Pollitt will really have his hands full then, as if they aren't full enough already.

Mike Lewis and WBI are really being stretched thin.

I've watched a lot of documentaries about the mob, hits and serial killers. From what I gather a quiet hit would be one shot from a .22 right at the base of the back of the neck and aimed upward.

Since the .22 is a small caliber, there isn't as much noise, and it is intended for the bullet to enter under the scull and rattle around inside the scull totally scrambling the brain.

Plus the one bullet gets pretty deformed and makes it harder to compare it to a sample from the murder weapon.

One shot to the head would have done it. Sounds like a retaliation thing for whom knows what? Drugs, girlfriends or wives? If it was a hit there would have been one shot and they would have hauled ass.

couldn't be. "we don't have no murders around here, crime is down, no gangs here, either"
(to quote a certain c.o.p.)
thus the fatal wounds had to be self inflicted.

sooooo, sad.

Being a retired SF guy...this is how we were trained. Two to the chest & one to the head. Simple and to the point. But I can promise you this-this was no SF hit. We're were never that sloppy

The problem is that he was from around here, played sports around here, went to christian school around here, etc.. This is happening and has been for some time. Maybe now people will take notice because this time it is a young white person. How much have we heard about the young black man found in concord a week or so ago? Instead the police bust people for petty marijuana crime. Wake up! Real crime is happening.
