ZERO TOLERANCE is the rules at Bennett High School and they mean it. Last night there were allegedly 8 Students who were caught with alcohol on their breath at the Sadie Hawkins Dance. This is where the Girls ask the Boys to the Dance and 300 tickets were sold for the event.
One of the Students went to one of the chaperone's and said something about the dance and they could smell the alcohol on their breath. This lead them to the entire posse he was with and they were all removed and asked to take breathalyzers. I'm not sure what happened after that. I do not believe any were arrested but I do believe the Parents were called in to get their children.
I just hope these kids that were involved were driving. If they were, they should be charged and learn a lesson. If they weren't, well, back in the day................. Times sure have changed.

Times sure have changed. Back in the troopers day, anyone that smelled of alcohol stayed the hell away from any teachers or chaperones!
I think that kid was stuck on stupid.
You say "i just hope these kids that were involved were driving" did you mean weren't driving? Because that would be messed up if you hoped that anyone, kids or not, would drive while intoxicated. Or did Joe actually make a typo.
Where is this HIG school anyway?
The school should persue the driving fact. I also wonder if they had put out the word that no drinking was allowed at these dances or any school function? Surely they had done this, so perhaps these guys need some after school training sessions to keep them occupied until dinner time, to teach them a lesson.

In my day, that kid who narced would be dead meat! Big deal, the kids had a few beers before the dance. They were not slobbering drunk or causing a disturbance. Nothing that I and most others didn't do back in the day. Now they got a criminal rccord because of some asshole kiss-ass.
Were you the hall monitor in school, or were you a normal kid, Joe??????
I think you meant you hope they wereN'T driving.
Little typo, but I thought you'd want to fix it before some yo-yo starts ragging you about it.
Joe:
So, is this a slow news day, or what????
Whoops! Serious typo error, thank you. Yes, WEREN'T driving. Sorry Folks.
How can you blame these kids -- they are simply replicating a certain local mayor, whose affinity for alky is the stuff of legend, and others, such as one of our leaders in Annapolis, who made the Baltimore Sun today --

Are you bored? Please do forward your address so we may send you our bill for our services. Looks like I have a thousand percent more information than Duvall today. Oh, that's right, he doesn't post on Saturdays! Then again, what does he post any more. Nothing but anti Albero/Pollitt/Harris stuff.
If you don't enjoy this Blog, please do not return. Perhaps you should also count the posts put up here today as well?
Same here!20 years ago we would be sh*tfaced by the time we arrived at dances or other functions but most of us were smart enough not to drive-thats the only issue I really have with this incident.
well we never went to any school functions including the prom(only for seniors @ that time) sh** faced ever, nor would we dare. Dad would have taken care of us. No more dances, no sports or any school activities of any kind...no driving, no movies (all we had way back then) no dates, more chores...
You name it, until he felt like lifting the ban. He didn't need corporal punishment, but he "whipped" us into shape. And he never forgot...
