The Wicomico Neighborhood Congress Meets Again
Dear Members, Interested Citizens, and Elected Officials:
November 27, 2007 marks the second formal meeting of the Wicomico Neighborhood Congress. The issue for this meeting will center around growth, which was identified as one of the most pressing issues facing Wicomico County. Our speaker, from the National Center for Smart Growth Education and Research, is Jason Sartori. We have made every effort to include members from the Hebron community, including concerned citizens, members of Hebron Planning and Zoning, and experts in the field of growth.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM at Westside Intermediate School, 8000 Quantico Road in Hebron. We extend an invitation to WNC members, elected officials, and members of the general public. Please remember to bring dues of $10 for individuals and $25 for neighborhood associations and groups. Members of the public will be asked to join, but do not have to pay in order to attend the congress meeting. Attached is the draft agenda for the evening. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Additonally, please pass this on to members of the community who you feel might benefit from the program. Jim Ireton, WNC

I don't know Dot Truitt, but I recognize her hair in that picture from all the times I've watched PAC14 broadcasts of the city council meeting.
She has my admiration. It takes GUTS to get up there to speak straight up. Louise Smith's letter to her makes me sick to my stomach. We need more Dot Truitts out there. Me, I'm afraid to get up at small meetings to speak!
And the fellow in that picture, Jim Ireton, another one to admire. Again, never met him, but have heard him speak. Look at him in this shot. He's KNEELING down to talk to Mrs. Truitt so she doesn't have look way up or get out of her chair. His face shows he's listening, interacting -- that he's FOR REAL!
I'm thankful for people like this. They are salt of the earth looking out for folks like me who could never do what they do.
