Royal Farms Store Still Shut Down

It was a year ago today that this Royal Farms Store closed their doors on Old Ocean City Road near the old Lowes in East Salisbury. If only they knew gas would be up another 50% today, perhaps they could have survived?

CORRECTION! It turns out this Store has in fact reopened. It should be noted that it was in fact a Post about what was going on one year ago today. It is always comforting to know something has taken its place and hopefully everyone agrees.

It has re-opened under a new name and has been open for several weeks.

I did not know that. This is very good news for the local economic & development. The last time I drove by there it was still closed. Thanks for the update and sharing.

Expensive gas is bad for station owners, not good. They operate on thin margins (as little as 5 cents per gallon), so as prices rise, their profit margin percent shrinks. Also, "driveaways" are documented to increase as gas prices rise.

It actually has a sub shop inside now and sells Oceanic gas.

Maybe this is why it opened:

THANK GOODNESS SOMEONE FINALLY CLEARED THIS UP.

For centuries, Hindu women have worn a dot on their foreheads. Most of us have naively thought this was connected with marriage or religion, but the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C. has recently revealed the true story.

When a Hindu woman gets married, she brings a dowry into the union. On her wedding night, the husband scratches off the dot to see whether he has won a convenience store, a gas station, a donut shop or a motel in the United States.

If nothing is there, he must take a job in India answering telephones giving technical advice.
