BANK ROBBER, KALVIN HOLLEY SENTENCED TO TWENTY TWO YEARS OF ACTIVE INCARCERATION FOR ROBBING BANK OF DELMARVA

On January 3, 2018, Kalvin Lee Holley, age 29 of Salisbury, was convicted of Armed Robbery and the Use of Handgun in the Commission of a Felony in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. Judge Sarbanes sentenced Holley to 40 years in the division of corrections with an active sentence of 22 years. The remainder of the time was suspended.

On December 9, 2016, five masked individuals, two of whom were armed with handguns, entered the Bank of Delmarva on Eastern Shore Drive in Salisbury, Maryland. Mr. Holley and another individual both brandished handguns. The suspects ordered all five bank employees to the ground at gun point and bound three bank tellers with zip ties. The suspects took over $11,000 in cash from the bank, as well as the personal property of the bank employees. The majority of personal items and all the stolen money were recovered through the investigative efforts of the police.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes commended Detective Jason Caputo and other members of the Salisbury Police Department for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this. Mrs. Dykes also thanked Assistant State’s Attorney Jared Monteiro who prosecuted this case.

Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On July 28, 2008 at approximately 11:13 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to an area of the Northwood Industrial Park for the report of a found body. Upon arrival, Officers observed the body which appeared to be that of a female. The body was recovered and transported to the Maryland State Medical Examiners Office for a determination of identity and cause of death. At this time, the results are pending. This investigation is continuing.

On July 27, 2008 at approximately 2:01 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department were in the area of the University Terrace Apartments and observed the below listed two (2) suspects transporting advertising banners from two (2) local restaurants. A representative of one of the restaurants was contacted and the advertising banners were found to have been stolen.

On July 27, 2008 at approximately 11:22 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations in the area of South Salisbury Boulevard. During the stop, a routine record check revealed that the suspect was wanted on an outstanding district court bench warrant. The suspect was advised of the warrant and immediately became disorderly and fought with the officers. Additional officers responded and the suspect was taken into custody.

James Junius Morton Jr, 21yoa of Salisbury was charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession with Intent to Distribute in a School Zone, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marihuana, and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Woodrow Snyder, 35yoa of Salisbury was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Paraphernalia. On July 24, 2008 officers with the Vice/Narcotics Unit executed a search and seizure warrant on a residence in the 600 block of Light St. The warrant was obtained after an investigation into a complaint of the distribution of narcotics in the Salisbury area. Morton was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine to indicate distribution and a quantity of marihuana. Snyder was found to be in possession of quantity of Cocaine. Morton and Snyder were released to the custody of Central Booking. 200800017440

Antonio Maurice Tindley, 23yoa, of Salisbury was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Trespassing on Posted Property, Obstruction & Hindering, and Resisting Arrest. On July 25, 2008 an officer from the Salisbury Police Department was on patrol in the 400 block of Anne St. The officer observed a subject known to the officer as Tindley trespassing on posted property. The officer approached Tindley and advised him that he was under arrest. Tindley then resisted the arrest but was brought under control as back up officers arrived. A quantity of cocaine was located on Tindley following his arrest. Tindley was released to the custody of Central Booking.

Moleak Kalhee Salaam, 22yoa, of Salisbury was charged with 2 counts of 3rd degree Burglary, 2 counts of 4th degree Burglary, and Malicious Destruction of Property.

Juwan Elizabeth Walston, 32yoa, of Princess Anne, Md was charged with 3rd degree Burglary, 4th degree Burglary, and Malicious Destruction of Property. On July 27, 2008 officers responded to the 800 block of North Division St for a reported burglary. On arrival officers found that two windows had been broken out allowing entry into the vacant residence. Witnesses advised the officers that there were two subjects sleeping inside the house. Officers made entry into the dwelling and arrested Salaam and Walston. Both were released to the custody of Central Booking.

Juvenile, 17yoa of Salisbury was charged with Distribution of Cocaine, Possession with intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Paraphernalia. During the month of June 2008, officers assigned to the Community Action Team and the Vice/Narcotics Unit conducted an operation targeting open air drug markets throughout the City. The Juvenile sold a quantity of Cocaine to an undercover officer. The juvenile was released to the custody of a relative. 200800022392

Jamie Marie Cary, 25yoa of Fenwick Island, De was charged with 13 counts of Credit Card Offenses, Fraud, and Identity Theft. The victim reported to the Salisbury Police Department that her wallet was removed from her purse while she was shopping in a local grocery store sometime in June 2008. Following a lengthy investigation by a detective into the theft and fraudulent use of the credit card, Carey was arrested. Andre Demetrius Hudson, 34yoa of Salisbury was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Paraphernalia. An officer from the Salisbury Police Department stopped a suspicious person in the area of Anne St and Baker St. After making contact with the suspicious person, later identified as Hudson, he consented to a search by the police officer. As a result of this search, a quantity of cocaine was located. Hudson was released to the custody of Central Booking. 200800026992

Qymaine Christopher Kenney, 18yoa, of Salisbury was charged with Possession of Marihuana and Possession of Paraphernalia. Officers from the Salisbury Police Department located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Naylor St and Benny St. Officers were able to make contact with the two occupants of the vehicle. During the contact the officers detected an odor of burnt marihuana coming from the vehicle. The officers were able to receive consent to search Kenny. As result of this search a quantity of marihuana was found on Kenney. Kenney was released to the custody of Central Booking.

Kalvin Lee Holley, 19yoa of Salisbury was charged with 2 counts of 1st degree Burglary, 2 counts of 3rd degree Burglary, 2 counts of 4th degree Burglary, Attempted Robbery, Malicious Destruction of Property, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.

Juvenile, 14yoa of Salisbury was charged with 2 counts of 1st degree Burglary, 2 counts of 3rd degree Burglary, 2 counts of 4th degree Burglary, Attempted Robbery, and Malicious Destruction of Property. Officers responded to the 100 block of Carrolton Ave for a reported attempted Burglary. On arrival, officers met with the victim and witness who identified Holley and the Juvenile as trying to enter a residence forcefully by kicking a door, causing damage to the door. Officers located the juvenile and placed him under arrest without incident. Officers were then able to locate Holley who then resisted arrest by not allowing the officers to handcuff him. Holley attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. Holley was released to the custody of Central Booking and the Juvenile was detained at the Eastern Shore Juvenile Detention Center. 200800026918

Juvenile, 16yoa of Salisbury and Juvenile 15yoa of Salisbury were charged as juveniles with Attempted 2nd degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property less than $500. As part of a covert operation targeting the recent burglaries of commercial establishments, the above juveniles were observed attempting to gain entry into a business located in the area of the 800 block of East Salisbury Pkwy. Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

August 31, 2009

Five juveniles, ages 14yoa-16yoa, from Salisbury, MD were arrested on August 30, 2009. Four juveniles were charged with Robbery and 2nd Degree Assault. The fifth juvenile was charged with Robbery, 2nd Degree Assault, Possession of Marihuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia. The juveniles are accused of assaulting and robbing a victim as he sat on his porch in the 700 block of Smith St on August 29, 2009. The victim was able to identify the juveniles to the police. A search incident to arrest located suspected marihuana and paraphernalia on one of the juveniles. All of the juveniles were arrested and transported to the Salisbury Police Department. Juvenile Services was contacted and advised of the crime. All five juveniles were detained by Juvenile Services at the Lower Shore Children’s Center.

Laron Emmanuel Woolford, 23yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. An officer responded to the 600 block of Baker St on August 28, 2009 at approximately 5:28am for a reported disturbance. On arrival the officer located Woolford who was creating a disturbance by yelling and screaming. Woolford was warned by the officer to stop the yelling. When Woolford failed to stop he was arrested by the officer. Woolford was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Amy Lynn Donoway, 26yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Paraphernalia. Officers responded to the 700 block of Ferndale Dr in an attempt to locate Donoway who was wanted on a Failure to Appear Warrant. Donoway was located on the roof of a residence as she was attempting to elude capture. Upon her arrest, Donoway was searched and found in her possession was suspected heroin and heroin paraphernalia. Donoway was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Rodney Chester Pitts, 25yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct. On August 28, 2009 at approximately 11:25am an officer responded to the W Paul Martin Bldg for a reported disorderly subject. On arrival the officer met with a witness who advised that Pitts became disorderly inside the building and was asked to leave by an employee. However, Pitts would not leave and became more disorderly, causing a disturbance. Pitts was arrested, transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Juvenile, 15yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Motor Vehicle Theft and Theft Less than $100. On August 28, 2009 at approximately 12:40pm, during a patrol in the 1200 block of Pemberton Dr the Chief of Police located a stolen motor scooter. Officers responded to the area to assist and to conduct an investigation. During this investigation, the Juvenile was observed running from the area where the scooter was located. The officer saw the Juvenile throw an object into some bushes. A brief chase ensued in which the Juvenile was captured and the item that he threw into the bushes was the keys to the scooter. The Juvenile was transported to the Police Department where he was charged on a youth report and released to the custody of his mother.

Micah Jerome White, 56yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for 4th Degree Burglary and Trespassing. On August 28, 2009 at approximately 10:45pm, officers were conducting a residential property check in the 200 block of Hazel Ave. The officers found that a previously boarded up shed had been entered and a light appeared to be on inside the shed. The officers made entry into the shed and located White who was apparently using the shed as a living area. The residence, as well as the shed, had also been previously condemned and No Trespassing signs placed by the Salisbury Neighborhood Code & Compliance Department on the residence and outbuilding. White was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Korie Raman Holden, 28yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Theft over $500 and Theft over $100. On August 28, 2009 at approximately 3:05pm, while on patrol in the area of Isabella St and Lake St an officer observed Holden operating a moped in violation of several traffic laws. During the officer’s investigation, Holden was not able to produce any documentation that he owned the moped. A wanted check was conducted on the moped which was found to be stolen from a residence on Adams Ave in November 2008. Holden was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Jason Marcellus Wright, 28yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Possession of Marihuana. On August 29, 2009 at approximately 10:19pm, officers were on patrol in the 1000 block of Fairground Dr. The officers observed a vehicle in the parking lot occupied by a driver that was passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle. When the officers made contact with the driver, identified as Wright, to check on his welfare the officers observed a quantity of suspected marihuana on Wright’s shirt. Wright was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Kalvin Lee Holley, 20yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for 1st Degree Burglary, 4th Degree Burglary, Theft over $500, Malicious Destruction of Property less than $500, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction and Hindering.


On August 30, 2009 at approximately 6:15am officers responded to the 500 block of West Isabella St for a reported Burglary. The victim reported that a suspect had entered his residence by kicking in the front door and breaking the window. Once inside, the suspect then removed numerous clothing items and a plasma television. The victim believed that the suspect is someone that he had helped earlier and prior to the burglary. After the report was taken, the victim then rode through the neighborhood in an attempt to locate the suspect. When the victim entered into the E Church St area, he located the suspect who was wearing the victim’s clothing. The victim contacted the police who responded and attempted to detain the suspect, identified as Holley. After a brief foot chase, Holley was arrested, transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

Hughland Edward Ivey III, 34yoa of Salisbury was arrested for 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Openly Wear and Carry a Dangerous and Deadly Weapon, and Reckless Endangerment. On August 30, 2009 at approximately 2:39pm, Officers responded to the 400 block of Hammond St for a reported domestic disturbance. On arrival officer met with the victim who advised that she had gotten into an argument with Ivey and this argument became physical. During the altercation, it is alleged that Ivey attempted to choke the victim and also struck the victim in her arm. It was also learned through the investigation that Ivey threatened to shoot the victim with a shotgun that he was holding. Ivey was arrested, transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.

WOW, SPD Keepin It Real!

On January 18, 2008 at approximately 10:20 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Jefferson St. for traffic violations. During the traffic stop the passenger, listed below, exited the vehicle and fled from the area on foot. The subject was located and detained by another officer. A search of the passenger’s area in the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected crack/cocaine.

On January 19, 2008 at approximately 10:53 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the parking lot of the Tamarac Village apartment complex in reference to subjects entering parked vehicles. The witness on the telephone was able to give descriptions of the subjects for the officers. The officers responded and located the suspects in addition to several vehicles that had been entered. The owners of the vehicles were contacted and the subjects were arrested.

On January 20, 2008 at approximately 12:10 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the area of Jefferson St. and Kent Ave. for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the officers found that the driver of a vehicle that had hit a second vehicle and left his vehicle and fled from the scene on foot. A description of the subject was received from witnesses and the suspect was located approximately one (1) block away. A search of the subject’s vehicle, incident to arrest revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana and a smoking device containing suspected marijuana. The subject was also to be found driving while intoxicated.

On January 23, 2008 at approximately 7:00 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, the officers found that at a location on the seven hundred block of South Division Street, the victim became involved in an argument with a female subject who cut the victim in the throat with a knife. The victim, identified as 27 year old Clayton Hankerson of Salisbury was treated at Peninsula Regional Hospital and remains in stable condition. The suspect, listed below, was located and placed under arrest for the assault. Detectives of the Salisbury Police Department received a search and seizure warrant for the premises and recovered the knife.

On January 23, 2008 at approximately 12:44 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department were advised by a citizen of a disorderly subject in the area of the Thrift Travel Inn. The officers were advised that the suspect appeared intoxicated and was disrupting the flow of motor vehicle traffic in that area. The officers responded and located the suspect, who was intoxicated and was in possession of an open container of alcohol. As the officers made contact, the suspect refused to quiet down and became more disorderly, resulting in his arrest.

The officers met with the suspect who fled from the officers on foot. On March 25, 2009 at approximately 12:07 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Lombardi’s Restaurant on Civic Avenue for the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival the officers met with restaurant employees who advised that the below listed suspect had consumed food at the restaurant and attempted to leave without making payment. When approached the suspect struck an employee of the restaurant. The suspect was placed under arrest and also struck one of the officers.
