‘The Horror’: Al Qaeda Commits ‘Medieval’ Massacre In Syrian Village; Mounts Severed Heads On Spikes, Mows Down Children

Karkamis, Turkey - Al-Qaeda fighters have struck a bloody blow in scenes of medieval violence in Syria’s northern border-town of Jarabulus. Fighting came to a head on January 17, between rebel groups Liwa al-Tawhid Brigade and the al-Qaeda-linked Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the town, when reinforcements arrived from Raqqa and reclaimed the city in a brutal four-hour battle.

By nightfall, at least 10 men had been beheaded, their heads mounted on spikes, and more than 1,000 refugees fled the 3kms across the border to Turkey.

It’s a shocking turn of events for residents and Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters alike, who just a week ago believed they were hours away from expelling the al-Qaeda group from their city altogether after surrounding the last 40 fighters in the city’s cultural centre.

US Military To Allow Turbans, Other Religious Clothing, Observances

The Pentagon has approved a new policy that will allow troops to seek waivers to wear religious clothing, seek prayer time or engage in religious practices.

Defense officials say the waivers will be decided on a case-by-case basis and will depend on where the service member is stationed and whether the change would affect military readiness or the mission.

Until now there has been no consistent policy across the military to allow accommodations for religion. Now, for example, Jewish troops can seek a waiver to wear a yarmulke, or Sikhs can seek waivers to wear a turban and grow a beard.

Others can request specific prayer times or ask that they be allowed to carry prayer beads or other items.

How bad is Obama’s performance as President? There’s a legitimate debate about whether he’s destroying the nation accidentally or on purpose and Allen West seems to be leaning towards the former.

With a record 20 percent of households on food stamps, former Florida Rep. Allen West says it’s time to stop saying President Barack Obama’s policies are failing.

They may be performing exactly as intended, he says.

West, a Republican, said he recently reread the Cloward-Piven strategy, proposed by two sociologists and political activists in 1966. The purpose of the strategy, offered to Democrats at the time, was to overload the welfare system so that people could be given “a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.”

Barack Hussein Soebarkah?

One of the unexplained mysteries in the scanty documentation of the early life of the 44th President of the United States is the appearance of the name Soebarkah as his last name on an official document filled out by his mother.

In a recent contribution to American Thinker, Nick Chase offers very persuasive evidence that the long-form birth certificate released by Obama is a forgery.

While in the midst of developing an argument supporting the idea that Obama was adopted by the Indonesian Lolo Soetoro, Chase states:

Finally, we have Stanley Ann Soetoro's 1968 application to extend her 1965 passport (now destroyed) for an additional two years, as shown in Figure PPA.

On the second page of the application, Ann moved to exclude her son Barack Hussein Obama (Soebarkah) from her passport, but the item has been crossed out -- perhaps on the advice of the consulate in Jakarta, as this would have left seven-year-old Barry passportless -- so it didn't happen.

The appendage "(Soebarkah)" has never been satisfactorily explained by anyone, and I certainly don't know what "Soebarkah" means, but it does seem to indicate a name change or change in citizenship status for the boy.

New Trial Sought For George Stinney, Executed At 14

Almost 70 years ago, South Carolina electrocuted 14-year-old George Stinney, the youngest person to be executed by an American state since the 1800s. Family members today say he's innocent, and while they can't bring him back, they want his name cleared.

A black teen in the Jim Crow South, Stinney was accused of murdering two white girls, ages 7 and 11, as they hunted for wildflowers in Alcolu, about 50 miles southeast of Columbia.

Stinney, according to police, confessed to the crime. No witness or evidence that might vindicate him was presented during a trial that was over in fewer than three hours. An all-white jury convicted him in a flash, 10 minutes, and he was sentenced to "be electrocuted, until your body be dead in accordance with law. And may God have mercy on your soul," court documents say.

Study: Nearly Half Of Black Men Arrested By Age 23

NEW YORK (AP) — Nearly 50 percent of black men and 40 percent of white men are arrested at least once on non-traffic-related crimes by the time they turn 23, according to a new study.

One of the authors of the study published this month in the journal "Crime & Delinquency" said the statistics could be useful in shaping policy so that people aren't haunted by arrests when they apply for jobs, schools or public housing.

"Many, many people are involved with the criminal justice system at this level," said Shawn Bushway, a University at Albany criminologist. "And treating them all as if they're hardened criminals is a serious mistake."

Flood At River Place Condos-100,000+ Gallons Of Water Destroys 18 Condos

Last Tuesday night, over 100,000 gallons of water flooded the River Place Condominiums in Salisbury. The fire sprinkler pipe burst and the water immediately began to flood 18 of the units as well as the covered parking area. 

The damage was devastating and resulted in a family of a single Mom with three children being put out of their home as well as a young couple who recently relocated to Salisbury. The family's unit has been deemed unlivable and the other couple's condo has been condemned. Both parties were forced to live in a hotel for over a week and have not been advised to what actions to take for insurance guidance. 

The fire department was on scene and many officials have come out to assess some of the damage. Reports of the sprinkler system being shut down, possible closings on some of the floors and excessive mold problems are among some of the issues the tenants are having to live with. 

Apparently this story has not been shared with the media and many are concerned as to why information is not being shared with others. 

The damage was as severe as a raging fire and demolition crews have been on scene in the affected units since January 15th tearing apart all of the inside damage.

I Just Can't Tell You The Last Time WBOC Got It Right

Over the past 9 years that I've been Blogging, I honestly cannot tell you a time in which WBOC got it right when it comes to big OR even little storms. 

Yesterday they obviously rolled the dice in a gamble and THREE meteorologists flopped once again. Included in their snow ball package, lots of DRAMA.

So are we to sit back and say nothing at all. Nah, that's not my style. I like to call it as I see it, especially when there's so many people like myself that just might happen to DEPEND on PROFESSIONALS who are supposed to get it right.

Then again, maybe they got exactly what they wanted, people gluing themselves to the TV thinking, maybe this will be the one. Maybe I'll get off work tomorrow. 

In the end we got a little bit of snow. Yes, even enough to pull out the snow shovel, (not a broom) and clear off some sidewalks before we get fined by the big bad Mayor. But certainly NOT 8 inches! Then again, maybe we did get 8 inches, in WBOC weathermen calculations.

This is a picture behind the scenes at Dover Air Force Base where the bodies of fallen soldiers are prepared for burial.
And that includes being properly dressed, all the way down to the smallest detail.

In this picture Staff Sgt. Miguel Deynes is making sure the uniform is just right for an army pilot recently killed in Afghanistan.

There is a very specific process once a fallen soldier is returned home.

The bodies are flown back to the U.S. on a cargo jet.
A team of service members wearing white gloves carries the coffins, covered with flags, to a white van that takes them to the Armed Forces Medical Examiner.

The remains are washed, the hands are scrubbed clean, and the hair is shampooed. If necessary bones are wired together and damaged tissue is reconstructed with flesh-toned wax.

Sometimes they will use photos, sometimes just intuition to recreate the wrinkles in faces, and the lines around the mouth or the corner of the eyes.

“It has to look normal, like someone who is sleeping.”

Once the body is ready then the uniform is prepared.
That includes putting medals in the proper order on the ribbon rack above the jacket’s breast pocket.

During the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan 10 to 20 bodies were arriving every day.

The embalmers often worked all night to get the bodies home on time. That can take an emotional toll so the mortuary has a large gym so workers can blow off steam.

Many say they are haunted by how young the fallen soldiers are, and by how many of them leave behind small children.

That’s why Sgt. Deynes says they are advised not to do research into the backgrounds of the soldiers.

“If I knew the story of every individual who went through here, I would probably be in a padded cell.”

The dress uniform being prepared in this particular case will be in a closed casket.

Even so, it will be perfectly tailored, starched and pressed. Everything will be checked down to the last detail.

Sgt. Deynes says, “They’re (the family) not going to see it. I do it for myself. It’s more than an honor it’s a blessing to dress that soldier for the last time.”

Now the 55-year-old "Justify My Love" singer is apologizing for her choice of words.

"I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N-word on Instagram," she said in a statement Saturday to E! News. "It was not meant as a racial slur ... I am not a racist."

5 Reasons Marijuana Should Remain Illegal

How did we end up in a world where Big Gulps are being banned in New York while the welcome mat for potheads is being rolled out in Colorado? How is it that cigarette smokers are pariahs, while people smoking weed are being cheered? This is despite the fact that potheads are almost universally recognized as unmotivated, low class, degenerate – and, yes, smelly failures. Even the ones that get somewhere in life, like Barack Obama, usually turn out to be mediocrities.

Moreover, we all recognize that smoking is a dirty habit that makes you die younger and while drinking is a potentially dangerous habit that leads to hundreds of thousands of deaths per year, but we want to condone pot use on top of that? That’s like saying you’ve got a bad back and a bad shoulder; so why not break your knee cap to top it all off. How many lives are we willing to flush down the drain because a significant number of Americans tried pot a handful of times in their lives, got away with it and now feel guilty about it? One hundred for every person in prison? 1000? 10,000? There’s a reason pot was made illegal in the first place and quite frankly, the only reason alcohol and cigarettes are legal is because they’re so deeply ingrained in our society that we can’t get rid of them.

There is certainly a financial and human cost to keeping marijuana illegal and we can see it in our prisons. But, there would be an even larger cost to making it legal.

Did You Watch WBOC Tonight?

Clearly they're NOT interested in the economic downfall of Wicomico County and instead are sending out every single reporter they have on the road to tell you NOT to drive in these conditions. REALLY, these conditions!

Perhaps Draper needs to send some of these people to Upstate New York for a long weekend in the winter so they can see what a real storm, (without names) is really like.

At 5 PM they made my entire Family laugh so hard we couldn't take it. At one point they actually interviewed a woman having her Pool serviced because she was afraid it would collapse. Are You Serious WBOC??? Let's get simple here for just a second. Just how many POOLS do you think are on Delmarva in need of service during a little snow storm? Hint, YOUR FAILING like the Daily Times and FAST.

Then one reporter was talking about all the snow up north towards Dover and he kept attempting to pull snow off the ground but guess what, there wasn't enough there to get any in his hand. Another reporter was driving down the road telling people to stay off the roads, yet he was looking just about everywhere not paying attention to the road.

It was extremely comical. Then, the only thing that actually educated me on TWO different broadcasts, (5 & 6 PM) was the fact that they actually NAMED this storm. Really, seriously? Janus! I'll break out my BROOM and clear my walkways tomorrow at this rate but I do thank you for the laughs.

Md. Environmentalists Against Repeal Outline Benefits Of Rain Tax

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)–With some in the state legislature moving to repeal the so-called “rain tax,” those in favor of keeping it promise a fight.

Alex DeMetrick reports right now, 10 counties and the city of Baltimore are under orders to raise fees to clean stormwater runoff.

It’s not really a tax on rain. it’s a fee to reduce the pollutants that wash off hard surfaces during a rain and flow as stormwater runoff into waterways that feed the bay.

“When you have just one inch of rain on a hard surface, 27,000 gallons of polluted runoff flood our local streams,” said Will Baker, Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Incident: Flee and Elude / Drive Suspended

Location: Northwood Drive, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Kia Monique Savage, 37, Salisbury, MD

                                 

Narrative: On 18 January 2014 at 10:56 PM, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Kia Savage for an equipment violation. Savage pulled to the side of the road but accelerated away after the deputy exited his patrol vehicle and approached Savage. The deputy returned to his vehicle and pursued Savage who headed towards U.S. 13. Savage was able to elude the deputy after turning off the headlights on her vehicle.

The deputy responded to the address of the registered owner of the vehicle and waited for Savage to return which she ultimately did. Savage admitted to the deputy that she fled because her privilege to drive had been suspended and she was afraid the deputy might arrest her for driving suspended.

The deputy placed Savage under arrest and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Savage in the Detention Center in lieu of $15,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 19 January 2014 at 7:26 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location in the 20700 block of Nanticoke Road for a reported theft in progress. Upon arrival the deputy located two individuals with a truck that was stuck in the mud on the property of an abandoned building. Investigation revealed that the pair, Paul Green and James Wright, had loaded an old cast iron tub into the back of their truck when they apparently became stuck while trying to drive away.

Green and Wright attempted to drive the truck out of the mud using boards ripped from the abandoned building as traction but to no avail. They were still there upon the arrival of the deputy.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the deputy placed both individuals under arrest for the theft of the tub. Both were transported to the Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance the Commissioner detained both in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond each.

300 W. Main Street Is Under Contract

While some were told I had sold my building and it was under contract a few days ago, I personally did not sign the agreement until yesterday.

I am very excited for the new buyer, also from Delmar. Like any contract, there are still some basic hurdles to get over but as things stand right now it's a go.

So what will be going into this incredible building. I am pleased to say that the new Owner will be putting in a very upscale Wine Bar, perfect for this location. They will be under construction over the next two or three months to recreate the 1st floor and you can expect to see Micro Brews there as well. They will also be serving lite fare food.

The new Owner explained the inside layout to me and it will be very cool. I'll leave those details for he and his Wife to share with you when the timing is right.

I'm excited to see yet another step forward in the RIGHT direction towards properly revitalizing Downtown. There will be NO Dance Studio going into my building, that's for sure.  

O'Malley Releases Agenda

Gov. Martin O'Malley wants to advance efforts to create a unified communications network for first responders across Maryland as part of a legislative package released Monday that includes measures to help prevent domestic violence and a proposal to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 by 2016.

O'Malley, a Democrat, wants to index the minimum wage to keep up with inflation in 2017. His proposal would increase the cash wage rate for tipped workers from 50 percent to 70 percent of the minimum wage.

"When workers earn more money, businesses will have more customers, and we'll grow Maryland's economy from the middle out," O'Malley said.

Here We Go Again Delmar

Remember the other day I talked about all of the days the kids have been off over the past few weeks, including Monday. Well I just found out our Grandson has off AGAIN on Friday for another "Professional Day". 

Factor in the possibility of yet another day off Wednesday if we get a ton of snow and let me tell you, these kids are on a roll! (UPDATE: As we all know they have already closed school today). I feel for all you Parents who have to take off work in the Delmar district and if you didn't know about Friday, it's NOT on their regular scheduled day off. They realized they didn't put in for enough professional days and added it to this Friday.

Two Juveniles Arrested In Pittsville For Break In & Entering

I got a phone call Monday morning, (BROAD DAYLIGHT) telling me they just saw a group of kids trying to break into my building in Pittsville. 

I called the Sheriff's Department and headed to Pittsville to see if they had caused any damage, they had. 

When I arrived they had pried open a bay door and snapped the steel locking mechanism to get in. I saw they had one guy handcuffed and the other was in the back of the car. They admitted to breaking into the building as well as theft. 

Here's what got me. One of them is a Volunteer Firefighter, allegedly from Sharptown. Ever since the last break in, neighbors have been keeping a keen eye on ALL properties in Pittsville because like everywhere else, crime is UP, not down. 

My hat is tipped to the WCSO for being extremely quick to respond and making these arrests. Considering it is a holiday and many are short staffed, three Officers arrived in no time. 

I want to also thank the people that called in the burglary. Community policing at its best.

The legislation secures purchasing power for workers by indexing the rate to inflation beginning in the year 2017, while also strengthening current law with an increase of the cash wage rate for tipped workers from 50 percent to at least 70 percent of the minimum wage. If passed, the increase will benefit 472,000 Maryland workers according to analysis from the National Employment Law Project.

Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 1-20-14

On January 13, 2014 at approximately 8:17a.m. a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy was in the area of U.S. Route 113 south bound and Shiloh Farms Road, in Berlin Md., and stopped a vehicle for following too close and an unsafe lance change.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Karen Guyton 29 from New York. The Deputy could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Deputies searched the vehicle and located a clear plastic bag with three individual baggies of suspected marijuana, in a suitcase in the trunk. The right front seat passenger Troy Andre Michael Hazell 41 of Virginia, stated that the suitcase was his and the suspected marijuana inside of the suitcase was his. Mr. Hazell was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.

Mr. Hazell was charged with possession of Marijuana. Mr. Hazell was released on his own recognizance.

Will Delegate Norm Conway Get His High Speed Proposal Fulfilled?

Delegate Norm Conway is proposing the creation of a new 65 MPH speed limit on ALL Duel Lane Highways in Maryland.

He specifically talked about Rt. 50 from the Bay Bridge to Ocean City, as if there haven't been enough fatalities, including former States Attorney Sam Vincent and MANY other innocent victims.

Delegate Conway is supposed to be representing the citizens of the Eastern Shore and considering OUR dual lane highways are clearly not designed for such speed, (aside from the Bypass) this is not in our best interest. 

We have searched high and low for this Bill and it has not surfaced, yet. You may want to let Mr. Conway know through comments just how YOU feel about such a bill and proposal before it's too late.

On New Years Eve the Downtown Plaza was literally packed with people celebrating and having a great time.

The Mayor and friends got on social media and did a fantastic job reaching out and drawing in thousands of people. However, Mayor Ireton in his self proclaimed way like to tout himself as a founder of the 3rd Friday event. I can tell you first hand, this is very far from the truth.

Nevertheless, Jim Ireton and Jake Day, (both of whom I did not see when I was at 3rd Friday) are pushing for their vision of a revitalized Downtown, yet it is very evident they did not reach out to that very same crowd from New Years Eve to support this 3rd Friday event. 

Look, in BUSINESS you MUST push as hard as humanly possible, (especially after such a massive success NYE) to keep the MOMENTUM going. That is, IF you really support a Downtown revitalization.

So I'm taking these pictures and a guy walks up to me and says, what are you taking pictures of. I said, 3rd Friday and the Plaza. He said, but there's no one here. I know some will attempt to come on here and say this was more of an indoor event this month. Look, I was there and I can tell you flat out, I looked in the buildings and it was deader than I have ever seen it. Oh there were people inside but it was mainly vendors and a hand full of customers. Even the Bars were empty. 

While your Mayor likes to claim 3rd Friday as one of his pet projects, (not true) he obviously fell asleep at the wheel this month. Pictures do NOT lie.

That's what taxpayers grant to Perdue Agribusiness -- not counting the $8.75 million in corporate welfare that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett is also promising to give to multibillion-dollar Perdue.

WHY?
So that:

1. Perdue's soybean-to-oil factory proposed in Lancaster County, Pa. can misuse the very air we all need to breathe -- as a toxic, hexane-waste disposal site. This leaves Perdue without having to worry about paying a penny for ruining our health.

2. Like a Charleston, W.Va. company that's lately been polluting the drinking water of hundreds of thousands of people, Perdue acts like it's entitled to commit a similar -- and even worse -- crime here:

...when the liquid form of its toxic hexane is released from the explosion- and leak-prone storage tanks that Perdue wants to put on a sinkhole-containing site along the Susquehanna River -- from which six million people get their drinking water!
