Station 7 In Pittsville Officially Opens Monday!

During a "dry run" last night, Jennifer and I enjoyed some of the finest food we have ever eaten in our entire lifetime.

They came around with a bowl and you randomly chose what your appetizer was going to be, then your entree and then your desert. We had a rack of ribs and calamari for our appetizers, OMG! The ribs were the best ribs I had ever eaten!

Then came the entree. I had a 16 oz. ribeye. Folks, I have never had the pleasure of eating a finer piece of meat in my life! It was cooked to perfection, (IMO). Jennifer had a stuffed chicken breast that was out of this world! Gavin had a hot dog from the children's menu and it was HUGE! It also taste fantastic. Then came desert. We were already stuffed when this huge brownie was delivered with two scoops of ice cream on it. UNBELIEVABLE!

Once things started clearing out I was asked to stick around by Todd's mother and offer a toast upstairs in the bar area. I expressed just how proud I am of Todd & Carroll, That's Carroll with two (R's) and two (L's), an inside joke. Their vision was one thing but to achieve it the way they have done so, who couldn't and wouldn't be as proud of them as I am?

Folks, this is a place you'll visit and return time and time again. Trust me, "They'll make your drive to Pittsville well worth the trip." I see Station 7 as the next Old Mill of the Eastern Shore. The prices are LOWER than the chain restaurants but they have a personal touch. You have a Professional Chef cooking your food and there wasn't a single complaint.

I wish Carroll & Todd the very best of success. Without "ALL" of you however, they cannot survive. Please visit them and let them show you how a dining experience should be. Remember, they're ironing out the kinks as they get started.

Hunter Nelms Was A "No Show" (AWOL) At The Swearing In Of Mike Leiws

There was one individual I was looking high and low for at the swearing in ceremony for Mike Lewis and that was former Sheriff Hunter Nelms. I was sure the man would be there and I was completely wrong.

At one point I asked Mike Lewis, where the heck is Hunter Nelms? Mike replied, "Joe, I personally invited Hunter and I have no idea what happened to him." That being said, (IMO) his absence was very disrespectful.

I can't recall perfectly but I believe the Master of Ceremony Davis Ruark mentioned Hunter Nelms name and there was a standing ovation. After 20+ years of leading the Sheriffs Department you'd think he would have been there for his Officers and welcome the new Sheriff with open arms. After all, he's the one that retired and he wasn't voted out.

As I wish Hunter the very best life can offer and I'm grateful for all he has given, I'm disappointed in his final decision.

I have been following The Daily Times on line version of the Blogs and that too has fallen falt on its face.

My thinking is, unless they start telling "full stories" and stop being so afraid of Barrie Tilghman, things are going to continue to go down hill for them. Perhaps they could create a similar poll in their news print to see if these figures would change any?

Nevertheless, Barrie Tilghman & Chief Webster might want to reconsider who they want to call "Media" in this area.

Chief Jack & Coke Learns He's A Public Official

Although Chief Jack & Coke tried to use his right hand to block the view of this 47 News Camera Man, they have every right to do so and there's not a darned thing that can be done about it. At one point I'd say he was within 15" of his face.

Mike Dunn and the rest of the City Council better get used to it as they are preparing to put together their campaign to keep their seats on the Council. Bashing Debbie Campbell is not the answer but let them keep at it. The Blogs will slam them every time they lie and the readership continues to rise, so the message will get out there. The funniest part is, Debbie's seat isn't up for grabs. Secondly, they've already admitted she's a single voice on the Council, meaning everything that's being passed is being done so by their votes, not Debbie's.

Mike, we're going to get to the bottom of your financial situation with Sassafras and the Bank of Delmarva Stock. It's not over yet. In closing, what do you think would have happened to ME if I had gotten this close and took pictures of the Chief? Hmmmmmmmm?

Is Salisbury Truly Prepared For The Handicapped?

As I travel around the City daily I am overwhelmed by the amount of traffic on the main roads with the handicapped. Not long ago we read a story about one of these individuals being hit and killed by an automobile and I have to tell you Folks, it's only going to get worse.

With another 4 murders in desperate need of resolution still lying out there for the Salisbury Police Department to solve, I'm sure these violations are of minimal concern to the Police Chief. Nevertheless, they are important.

Flags that go at least 6 feet into the air are a necessity. Lights and reflectors on these wheels of transportation are a necessity. I also don't understand why they don't use sidewalks when the City has spent so much money renovating the curbs to meet their needs? All too often I see these guys in the streets, acting like they are automobiles.

WalMart & Sam's Club are loaded with these motorized vehicles and it's like watching a cat fight whenever they start running short on these things. I've even seen children driving them around with their parents.

I can only hope someone starts enforcing more strict rules as to who can use them, where they can be driven and what will happen to you if you break the rules. The safety of these Citizens come first, not the driver of a vehicle with air bags.

There is evidence in a big way that the handicapped are increasing locally, far more so than many, many years ago when they started gaining more rights to access. I just don't think Salisbury is anywhere near ready or up to code to provide the proper lifestyle these people deserve as Citizens.

Now don't get me wrong Folks. I'm not at all knocking the City for where it stands at this point and time. I have personally seen Public Works out there making changes for the better. More work needs to be done, that's all.

Welcome Again To The Downtown Plaza

Yes, the City of Salisbury does in fact have a daily crew that works the Downtown Plaza each and every day and this is what they leave behind. Oh, there was plenty more but I didn't want to be petty.

Barrie, you can't control all the trash on the river inside the Zoo, that's been proven. Now it is proven you can even keep your crew cleaning up the Plaza on a regular basis. Are you a bit out of control any more Barrie?

Why don't you just get it over with and blame it all on the Blogs? It's our fault things are falling apart, right Barrie? How about you try this one on for size?

It's the Blogs that have the big ones to stand up to you Barrie and expose the wrongs. I just can't wait to read more about how it's all our fault.

Major Accident On Pemberton Drive

A Taylor Oil truck and a pickup truck with a trailer collided today on Pemberton Drive causing a major spill onto the roadway and closed down traffic in both directions.

The Hazmat Team was on location and expected to work on the clean up for at least 3 hours. Power lines were down and fuel was everywhere.

One of the Officers on the scene said no one was seriously hurt.

Here's Living Proof I Was In The Press Room Inside The Police Department.

First of all, I want to thank so many of you for the personal e-mail messages supporting me.

Yesterday I walked through the front doors of the Police Department, looked at the glass window and the Officer waved me into the back of the Police Department through their security door.

Once inside I could quickly see the room in which there were several people, including the Press. I went into the room and with all smiles said hello to 90% of the people I already knew and they responded with hand shakes back and or friendly hello's.

I positioned myself in a spot where I thought I could get good shots when one of the Officers came to me and said, "Joe, the Chief would like to speak to you outside for a second." I knew right then and there that the Chief was going to ask me to leave.

I got outside the room and looked down the hallway and there was the Chief leaning up against the corner of the wall with his arms folded and I very politely said, good afternoon Chief, how are you today? He replied, "Get the hell out of my building Joe." I stood there in awe and I said, you're kidding, right? He replied, "You are not the Media and I want you to leave." I replied, come on Chief, you know my Blog Site is huge, how could you not consider me as a local source of news? He responded, I'm escorting you to the front door, are you going to give me a problem? I replied, oh yes sir, I'm going to give you a huge problem on my Blog Chief. You know you just started a war, right? He replied, I don't give a damn what you have to say Albero, just get the hell out of my building now.

Well Folks, I think you all know me well enough by now to know, I'm from the Bronx in New York and we have a phrase we like to use for men like Chief Webster who hide behind a Badge and are actually a yes man to a female Mayor. That phrase is what we like to call a "pussy."

So know this from here on out Chief Webster. Know what is on my mind every time you see me from this point forward whenever you see me smiling at you. The next time you try to throw that Kojak stare at me THAT HAS NEVER WORKED ANYWAY in the attempt to intimidate me, I'm going to smile Chief and inside you're going to know, (without my having to say anything) exactly what I'm thinking. Oh yes Sir, it's a word that will now haunt you the rest of your career because all the Officers there who know I'm NOT out to make any trouble are right now laughing at you because they truly have no more respect for you. After all, a little guy like me is standing up to a pussy like you and they're laughing at you Chief.

Any further attempt to harass me Chief will bring on multiple law suits against you and the City. I have the right to think and believe what I believe right here and now and I have every right to express those thoughts. You have violated my rights as an American and you're going down through the legal system, period.

Remember this final note Folks. When is the last time you ever heard of a MAN getting thrown out of a Police Department? Have any of you ever known of a BIGGER man than that? You're a pitiful little man Chief Webster and I've known this from the very first day I met you. On that day the Chief said, "Joe, I don't have a problem with you and I hope you don't have a problem with me because I like my job." Remember that Chief? You must not like your job too much because I'm now coming after it. We'll see YOU in Court this time Chief. :-)
