Major Accident On Pemberton Drive

A Taylor Oil truck and a pickup truck with a trailer collided today on Pemberton Drive causing a major spill onto the roadway and closed down traffic in both directions.

The Hazmat Team was on location and expected to work on the clean up for at least 3 hours. Power lines were down and fuel was everywhere.

One of the Officers on the scene said no one was seriously hurt.

PB,

There's a funny story about this whole story. I happened to be on the phone with a friend of mine who was almost involved in this accident and summoned me down there immediately.

On my way, I thought I'd call some of the "other" Media people, 47 News, 16 News and The Daily Times. I knew I was even ahead of 911 being called in, so I was onto something big.

Nevertheless, 47 & 16 never showed up. The Daily Times did in fact show up soon after I arrived and I came all the way from Delmar, DE.

While there, the representative from The Daily Times became impatient and decided he was going to run to the other end of the scene and try to convince the Officers there that he needed to get in closer for some good shots and report his story.

I tried calling him on his cell and he refused to answer. I left a message simply asking, I was just curious if they let you through at the other end?

Once this reporter thought he had all the banging shots he finally called me back and said he had in fact gotten through and he was on his way back to the Times.

OK, I'm cool with that, (I thought to myself). I then mentioned to the State Trooper that they let the Times through at the other end, would it be possible if I went through now? He said, go ahead Joe, just keep out of the way.

My point to this story is, look at the Daily Times photos and then look at mine. Dee, Dee, Deeeee! If I appear as if I'm patting myself on the back, I'm truly not. I'm simply a firm believer that what goes around, comes around.

I thank all the Fire Departments, the Salisbury Police, County Sheriffs Department and the State Police for understanding my intentions are always good and trusting I will do as they ask.
