In 2019, 45 percent of Americans viewed the sports industry positively as opposed to 25 percent who viewed it negatively, according to Gallup.
In 2020, those numbers have nearly flipped, with 40 percent of Americans now viewing the sports industry negatively and only 30 percent viewing it positively.

I think the nfl is ok with losing business. They've got themselves in a jam. If they don't stand behind blm then the black players will walk out. This is actually going to play in their favor. When fans walk away and the nfl goes bankrupt the players will then have to make a decision. Act like five year olds or grow up and do what they're paid to do, entertain.

Not at all surprising. Personally, I am tired of being lectured to about inclusion and equity by a bunch of twenty something millionaires. They have no life experience and have lived in a bubble of athletic privilege since college. It is hard to take someone seriously who becomes an instant millionaire for no reason other than athletic skill. I have chosen to forgo professional sports due to the incessant in your face lectures. And I hate to tell LeBron but I could care less what his political and social opinion is. If I want constant left wing lectures, I will return to college.

The only sports I will watch anymore are my grandchildren's school games. I was done with professional sports years ago, and the decision looks better with every protest from the overpaid black athletes. Why watch? All it does is support their cause. No longer sports. Now every game starts with politics. It will be the death of sports as we once knew it. Sports WAS entertainment. What is it now? It's not something I want to support by watching, or attending the games, like I used to with my kids.

My story is different. I don’t miss the crap because I never did support it. Years ago on the local tv sports reel, they would speak of who had been locked up for a shooting that occurred in a club. The few minutes were spent on that type stuff, not what happen on the field. That is why I have referred to them as National Felony League (NFL) But, this kneeling would have turned me off fast. Maybe to them it means something else. To me it is disrespectful. The National Anthem makes my eyes water, so don’t disrespect something so dear to me.

In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling before each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made him take it off.
In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.
In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.
In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing "Find the Cure "eye black for breast cancer awareness.
In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem..).
In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty.
In 2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.
So tell me how the NFL supports free speech and expression. It seems quite clear based on these facts that the NFL has taken a position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue: For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops killed arbitrarily, for being cops, or for the Memory of 9/11...
BUT they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our National Flag, our National Anthem, for America, and for the American People, if it will help mollify a particular Group and its supporters. That is who and what the NFL has shown itself to be.

"Pro" sports; for democrats only. No wonder their numbers suck. Allowing the players to make their sport political in a politically divided country only had one possible outcome. If they can survive as entertainment for only half the country, so be it. I don't think they can. Or if they do, it will be for A LOT less money. As it should be.
