Oh yes they do 1:10. Thousands of gallons of jet fuel gets really hot when set a blaze. Steel loses its strength the hotter it gets. Now try to image the weight of a 30 story building and all its contents being supported by steel being weakened and softened by the flames of that fuel, plus the fire proofing layer on the steel lost its adhesion upon impact of the crashes. The terrorists that crashed the planes only expected the buildings to be destroyed on the floors where hit by the planes and above, however do to the buildings structural design they were completely destroyed much to the terrorists surprise.
