Governors Call on the Administration to Delay Changes to Hospital Reporting Requirements

WASHINGTON—The National Governors Association, on behalf of the governors in all 55 states and territories, urges the Trump administration to delay the changes to hospital reporting requirements announced on Monday for 30 days.

“These sudden changes by the federal administration impose undue burdens on our state health departments and hospital systems, which are already working at full capacity,” said Governor Larry Hogan, chair of the National Governors Association. “To demand these changes be made in a matter of hours is unreasonable, but to take it a step further and threaten to jeopardize supplies of remdesivir is unconscionable. A delay of these changes is clearly in the best interests of our patients, hospitals, and health departments as we continue to navigate this unprecedented crisis.”

A letter to governors, signed by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx, was sent Monday evening, requiring the use of a new reporting mechanism for hospitals, daily reporting from hospitals, and additional data to be included. The administration implemented these changes effective as of Wednesday.

The administration has stated that they plan to utilize this data to better allocate supplies and drugs to states. To ensure the accurate reporting of this data, governors are requesting a 30-day delay of these new requirements, in order for hospitals to learn a new system, as they continue to deal with this pandemic. In addition, governors urge the administration to make this information publicly available.

Hogan and Cuomo wants to delay proper / correct reporting until after the elections. These changes / accurate reporting will hurt the Democrat agenda and make the Governors look bad for very poor / inaccurate reporting.

What's so complicated? Did the patient die from the virus or from ANOTHER condition that was amplified by the virus? Citizens don't care about statistics that help achieve a political goal. We simply have no interest in dying.

Would not fix Lockdown Larry's narative of keeping things sheltered until 11/7. Besides, got to sell that book.

The Administration has no business being involved in " the distribution of drugs and supplies" . . .

That kind of top down control grid is exemplary of communism.

I hope the politicians start dying.
