BOWIE, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A defiant pastor in Prince George’s County appears to have disregarded Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s social distancing rules.
State Police interrupted a church service of about 50 people over the weekend, and the entire encounter was captured on cell phone video, and posted on the pastor’s Facebook page.
A group of about 50 people gathered this past Sunday at Evangel Cathedral Church in Bowie – and none of them were social distancing.
Maryland State Police could be seen on video interrupting the service.
According to State Police, they arrived at the church around 7:30 p.m. after seeing a large crowd gathering inside Evangel Cathedral Church.

I would love to see a beach, sunrise service for Palm Sunday and/or Easter. Volunteers could put chairs 6 feet away from each other on the beach, an empty parking lot or boardwalk. and the pastor could use loud speakers to provide the service.
Our local residents need this right now. We need hope and faith and be able to pray together to get this disaster behind us.
Let's run it up the town hall flag pole and see if we can make something happen.
Reckless fools. No one needs to be getting into a group to pray together, according to your deities attributes he isn't hard of hearing and apparently can hear you no matter where you are. Stay yourselves at home! This is putting everyone at risk, not just your group of religious zealots.
You CAN have hope when everyone keeps everyone else safe. You CAN have faith when you are helping to keep everyone else safe.
If you haven't noticed, your deity seems to not care about this situation... you don't think people have been praying like crazy as it is? Despite all the praying, the number of dead world wide DOUBLED in one week.
Demonstrably, your prayer is useless, but you know what actually works to help stop the spread of this virus? STAYING AT HOME!
I understand the separation of church and state - however this IS the 21 Century and times are much different today. Too include the ability to get religion via different means.
It's a family business.
Preacher needs a new Mercedes...
