No. Only 25% of the cases and 20% of California’s number of deaths. However, current number shown for new cases is 1.7 times greater than current number for California.
I can’t figure out how California is not impacted and Washington state fema hospital was taken down. I’m happy they are doing well but it is mind blowing.

No, according to this chart California has 13,929 cases and 321 deaths. Maryland has 3609 cases and 67 deaths. It does show MD has more reported new cases on that day. This isn’t a very hard chart to understand
It only shows that MD has more new cases because it is not an end of the day chart. CA is several hours behind MD and reports in several batches. Please look at more complete data sets by clicking on the tab that says yesterday at that website.

It's because there are more immigrants in California. Immigrants do not come forward. They are afraid. Most hospitals tell you to stay home - nothing they can do for you unless you are near death.
The virus started on the West Coast. They are way ahead of the east coast with mitigation measures. We are not yet there where they are now. Mitigation measures have to be given a chance to work before the results can be measured.
