Our Founding Fathers wanted something different. They came from a government that was centralized and had complete rule over the citizens. Freedom did not exist. Individuals were not allowed to worship as they wanted. One could not speak out against the Crown for fear of imprisonment. There were no protections from impromptu government searches and seizures. And forget about firearms. Washington, Madison, Jefferson, and Franklin understood that to be free as an individual, the government could not be significant and must be bound to restrictions. The COVID-19 outbreak has exposed the Democratic Party. They are a group of overreaching, power-hungry politicians. The idea that businesses are shut down because of their edicts sends a chill down their legs. The Democrats have been given the power to stop capitalism. The "evil" system that allows citizens to not rely on the government to have a house or food.

American capitalism is perverted. It's been allowed to run to a point of no return in which a handful of people control most of the wealth. It is possible to have capitalism with heavy social policies (see all nordic countries referred to as communist). The last President to erase national debt, democrat. Current President who has us in a historic amount of debt, Republican. Who blocks voter security laws to prevent foreign tampering in our elections, Mitch McConnel - Republican. These articles simply aim to stoke the fears of boomers so out of touch with the world because they haven't strayed more than 100 miles from the house they were born in their entire lives.

Our problem is Health and Economic. You can't address one at a time and must be done together. A bar for example does not need to be closed because someone MIGHT contract the virus. We must understand the cost of allowing a bar to be open safely and then let it open. What Hogan has done is totally idiotic from the economic standpoint. Maryland had a working unemployment system and has for years. Yes, it was overwhelmed by the deluge of applicants resulting from all the closures. That could have been fixed by adding people to pick up some slack. Only pure stupidity would make the decision to REPLACE the ENTIRE system they had with a brand new spanking system that doesn't work. Now, NOTHING works. Hogan runs the risk of the entire State economy coming to a complete halt before he ever realizes (if he ever does) he may never cure the flu.
