The House of Delegates on Friday night approved the education reforms outlined by the Kirwan Commission, but not a way to pay for them.
The 96-41 vote gives Democrats enough votes to override a possible veto from Gov. Larry Hogan.
The bill implements the 10 years of recommendations to improve schools, including higher teacher salaries, expanded pre-K and various curriculum changes.
It also requires the state to pick up a greater share of the cost for Baltimore City and Prince George’s County.

Throwing money under the guise of better education doesn't work. Schools need to be able to get rid of troublemakers, poor teachers and those students who don't want to be there. Parents need to step up and make sure their children are real students and not behavior problems.
Important news but leftmedia keeping it secret until passed.Going to look in Delaware to move this year maybe Bethany beach.
STOP THROWING MONEY AT THIS MISERABLE FAILING GOVERNMENT PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. IT WILL NEVER BE GOOD AGAIN UNTIL WE HAVE TRAINED TEACHERS IN CLASSICAL EDUCATION AND WE HAVE A TRUE CLASSICAL EDUCATION. NO MORE INDOCTRINATION. IT WILL NEVER WORK AS LONG AS WE TREAT STUDENTS A LITTLE CHILDREN WHO JUST CAN'T BEHAVE, WHO ARE NEVER TRULY HELD ACCOUNTABLE. YES; I'M YELLING BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO GET IT!!!
Baltimore City and Prince George's County Just screwed all counties on the shore and western MD.
Typical Democrat. Pass anything that they want to and never know how they are going to pay for it. Sounds like a repeat of obama care. Pass it then read it and cross their crooked fingers!
I will vote for no incumbent when this is passed. Tired of electing idiots that has no common sense and does not support the average family and the taxes they are forced to pay. This is COMMUNISM / SOCIALISM.
