This is how you notify your loyal patrons? You freakin jerks. I dont care where you move. I'll never buy another thing from you. You people have no code.
I have no idea how crazy Christine Braughler stayed in business as long as she did. A quick look at Maryland Judiciary Case Search shows that she was operating without a Business License, operating without a Traders License, hasn’t paid her rent in months, hadn’t paid employment taxes and owed EVERYONE money. She took a job at the Yacht Club but that ended poorly when things went missing. She is a scam artist plain and simple. Don’t worry Christine, everyone knows you are FAB!!! (Fake azz biotch)
Nice how they waited until AFTER they were closed today to post. So much for placing orders for tomorrow. Just another indication of how the ownership is completely "me" focused. Where ever you relocate Acorn, I'll never visit.
They will NOT reopen anywhere in this environment. It's a shame they're USING the Coronavirus situation as the reason they're closing. As comments have sated, it looks like there are other major reasons they closed their doors. Someone talk to their landlord.
Even Angelos closed their doors because THERE IS NO TRAFFIC in Downtown Salisbury. I tried to warn all these millennials that Jake Day and Jim Ireton were full of sh!t. They screwed ALL of you. Yet many were dumb enough to fall for their crap. Now ask yourselves, will the Folked Festival happen this year?
But she is still rolling large in her leased Mercedes while her house is in foreclosure. On the prowl for another husband to steal and marriage to wreck.
I don't know her. But Acorn Market had delicious food here AND at their old location behind The Country House so personally I would purchase their chicken salad, their yummy turkey sandwiches on stuffing bread, and their pastries if they were offering it somewhere else.
Who do you think you are? Neither business owes you anything. They have to do what is best for them. Classless is assuming those businesses exist just to do as you wish. Pathetic.
It’s not gonna bother me any. I went in there one time on my way into work one morning. I figured that I would try them out to show some support for local business. I went in there there was one person in the back behind the counter and I stood there for 8 to 10 minutes and was never even acknowledged after being looked at. I’m looking around wondering if they’re open And they were. It was unbelievable the poor service there and I have only one person in the back looking like he was trying to be busy was ridiculous. Never went back again after that experience so oh well – Karma is a bitch. Adios
I bet her plan is to close, file bankruptcy and blame it on the shutdown due to Coronavirus. Then, apply for Federal and State bailout money. One problem with her plan, to receive that money, your business has to be in “good standing” with the state you operate in. As you can see on Maryland Judiciary Case Search, her business is NOT in “good standing”. They would be ineligible for any and all assistance.
WOW!!! Between this and Kuhns I have to admit Joe you called it. We have tried to support and use the Downtown from day 1 and sure as hell hoped it would slowly come back. The loss of these 2 spots is mind blowing. Whether the woman is an idiot or lousy business person has nothing to do with it. There is enough professional folks downtown to support this. As to the Folk Festival helping out at this point I could care less. I love the Festival it has been great 2 years in a row. I just want to see it back for 3 great days of music. They screwed the local merchants the first years, things seemed better last year...this year who knows. Sad all over......
The only person to blame is Jake Day. That jerk is ruining people's lives for his playground downtown. People that make money and are doing well do not leave. The construction has absolutely bankrupted people. Everyone told you what was happening and going to happen if kept this idiot in office, yet people voted for him. Joe is 100% correct!
Why the nasty comment about Ugly Pie? They are a fabulous business with a great product. HOWEVER, Pie is not a necessity (as much as I’d like to think so). Ugly Pie made the right call - pointless to have another place open where people can’t really safely practice social distancing (not a big place). C’mon people, lighten up. Be safe, not unkind.
Biggest mistake was moving downtown They should have listened to good sense instead of the nonsense Day comes up and out with. Downtown is dead and has been for awhile No matter what ever Day or anyone else says, no matter how many rainbow crosswalks there are, ho matter how much money is wasted on the area it is dead and will not ever be resuscitated.
I wonder Almost Daily how much Better we would have been if only we had Elected Joe when he ran for Mayer. We made a Big Mistake. Imagine what Salisbury could Be!
Knock of the baloney. They were delivering and allowing pickup like every other food provider in the community and then they up and bailed. Food provides comfort and security in difficult times. They handled this very poorly and I for one, will not forget.
6:12 I stopped going to Acorn after Tina left. Not sure what happened there but I immediately noticed my favorite dishes did not taste the same. I found out a few weeks later that Tina was no longer there. She was one of the few reasons people ate at Acorn. Christine ruined that.
No body owes you anything so why all the they bailed comments. If you are not making money you can not stay open. So they should not go bankrupt to keep serving ugly pies to people and over priced chicken salad. Come on man. The Ugly Pie is awesome they will succeed at any location. The Acorn had horrible customer service. The killer is Jake Day has allowed this down town construction to go on way to long for any business to make ends meet. He is the reason small businesses are failing on the plaza. Nobody wants to navigate all the bs and drug addicts. Also slum lords charging Annapolis rent for ghetto property.
Her newest country bumpkin guy is rumored to be the male version of her. Between the two of them, I’d be alarmed if they’d ever conducted business legally. Good riddance to Crooked Christine and her Pre-foreclosure home!

I can only imagine the amount of rent their landlords raked out of them.
I say, good job getting out of there. Now go find a more reasonably priced location and continue making great food. We will support you.
Thanks alot Acorn. You and Ugly pie bail on us at the very time we need you most. Completely CLASSLESS both of you.
This is how you notify your loyal patrons? You freakin jerks. I dont care where you move. I'll never buy another thing from you. You people have no code.

It's too bad that they got lured downtown from their tucked away former location.

5:28 exactly...this will get blamed on downtown construction or the coronavirus but she was a terrible, clueless businesswoman, pure and simple
Yep.. she is the very definition of a narcissist
Same with Ugly Pie. They are using the pandemic as a convenient excuse. Bye bye Ugly Pie. I'll never buy again. Jerks.
good food but the service sucked
100% agree
But she is still rolling large in her leased Mercedes while her house is in foreclosure. On the prowl for another husband to steal and marriage to wreck.
No place to park.
You’re house of cards is crumbling down Christine. “Love and light”.

Lol bye bye downtown and Jake. 🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️
Fins did the same thing in Berlin......took this opportunity to bag out of a bad market
What a crappy way to let their customers know.
Exactly!! 100% classless
Well it looks like they will have a market that has no value on loyalty.
And exactly what restaurant do you own and operate for the benefit of us all???
Why was she allowed to operate so long without a license?
Who do you think you are? Neither business owes you anything. They have to do what is best for them. Classless is assuming those businesses exist just to do as you wish. Pathetic.
Wasn't impressed. Very skimpy portions, mediocre bland food, no customer service.
Their catering however is very good, perhaps that's what they should stick to.
Wish there was a good deli on the North side of town, Trax is great but too far of a drive. Hiat's is just to...o...sllll...ooo...w.

And Jakey says she’s closing because of COVID-19. What world does he live in?
Likely the plan is to bail, give covid19 the credit, and cash in on the Fed phase 3 relief plan.

Yeah Jakey...she hadn’t operated with a license since opening and hadn’t paid rent in months. Well before COVID-19. She is a fraud

Joe is 100% correct!
I ate there a number of time and lived the food and the decor. It was a nice place. Sorry to lose it.

SO you blame Jake Day for a bad business owner?
Great ,...bash, blame , pivot project.
Great and very constructive
You ignore the pattern of failure by the mayor ... looking the other way isn’t constructive either
I wonder Almost Daily how much Better we would have been if only we had Elected Joe when he ran for Mayer. We made a Big Mistake. Imagine what Salisbury could Be!
Agreed and ugly pie is only temporarily closing during this COVID outbreak they will be back!
Knock of the baloney. They were delivering and allowing pickup like every other food provider in the community and then they up and bailed. Food provides comfort and security in difficult times. They handled this very poorly and I for one, will not forget.
Sure wish Joe would run again!!! We NEED a good mayor!!!
Crooked Chrisy and crooked Steve should team up and open a Deli of their own..........BUILD IT AND NOBODY WILL GO!!
Run, Joe, run!!!

Is not a resident. Isn't qualified to run.

Between your poor spelling and random use of caps, I believe your big mistake was not finishing school.
6:12 I stopped going to Acorn after Tina left. Not sure what happened there but I immediately noticed my favorite dishes did not taste the same. I found out a few weeks later that Tina was no longer there. She was one of the few reasons people ate at Acorn. Christine ruined that.
9:26 Can’t blame Jake the snake for Acorn. Sorry that’s all on the owner.

Rumor has it she is filing bankruptcy and reopening in OC
