For the first time in 26 years, Virginians voted a Democrat majority into both the state’s House and Senate. Four weeks into the General Assembly, the new majority is voting in laws restricting parents’ rights, removing religious protections, and disturbing rights traditional to Virginians.
“The aggressive onslaught of hostile legislation is new this year,” said Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia. “Virginia has never even had a public policy discussion about forcing sexual orientation gender identity ideology on the private sector until Democrats gained power in November. In the case of abortion, we fought narrow repeals of abortion law in the past, but it wasn’t until this year that anyone seriously entertained a constitutional amendment addressing the right to abortion.”
With Gov. Ralph Northam’s backing, Virginia passed the so-called Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which would repeal multiple protections for women and the unborn, remove restrictions on abortions, and dismantle sensible sex separation in bathrooms, locker rooms, jails, and hospitals. It would also allow minors to abort without parental consent, would remove the ultrasound requirement before an abortion, and would make abortion access a legal right through an amendment to the Virginia Constitution.

The "equal rights amendment" is dead. The time has run out long ago for it to pass.
They are becoming a cesspool of depravity!
The few areas outvoted the rest of the mainly conservative state!
The best they (and the Eastern Shore of VA) can do is secede - what's left (pun intended) of VA will become the east-coast's California!
Many years ago I was stationed in and lived in Northern Virginia...my happiest day was seeing the "Welcome to Virginia" sign in the rear view mirror!
Time for peaceful resistance and voting is over, it is time to water the tree of Liberty with the blood of the Tyrants.
Virginia getting just what they deserve. Just like Maryland. It is easy to fix. Stop voting for democrats. Period!! Country needs to be divided and lets just the rats the the land to do what they want. They can have the entire west coast. We can give them some space on east and be done with it.
What a beautiful state with mountains and beaches.
It is probably a 10% land mass area around Washington DC that has gained full control of the State Legislature. Very sad indeed.
That state has a rich history of very conservative values among mountain people and farmers.
All of it being deliberately destroyed in the name of Communism.
There is a reason why people used to chase Communists out of their Countries.
Nobody wanted them in their Countries.
Now it is almost against the law to speak out against them in Europe and the US
Israel has a stranglehold on the Central Banks of US, Eurozone, Japan, and China
They print currencies from thin air and insist on having fiat currencies backed by nothing at all
They use that "fake money" to buy everything of value, and rig all of the world's markets.
The Eastern Shore will not be allowed to secede unless they joined MD. Like other areas that want to form their own state, it is just too difficult to pull off. The only hope in VA is either to vote them out of office and try to fix the mess or they have the option to join their counties to WV. Otherwise, drive off into the sunset.
The commies in VA are trying to create a Soviet Style state.
