Beginning Thursday, January 30, 2020, a private contractor will implement a shift in the traffic pattern at the intersection of Mill Street, West Carroll Street, Riverside Drive and Camden Avenue. Stage 2B of the Temporary Traffic Control Plan will reduce the number of travel lanes in and out of the intersection from W. Carroll Street, creating a 2-lane pattern which will be 1-way in either direction. (See diagram) This pattern modification will allow the contractor to begin the next phase of work on storm drainage, curb and sidewalk. This work will be performed during daytime hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Barring unforeseen circumstances and/or delays due to unfavorable weather, this work should be complete no later than March 20.
Commuters should expect delays due to traffic pattern modifications. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Alternate routes are suggested, but not required. Traffic manager Fannie Rholetter may be contacted with any questions at 302-363-0655.
We regret any inconvenience the pattern modification may cause. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated during the construction of this project. Should you have any questions or need clarification, please contact Tab Book with George & Lynch, Inc. at 302-342-3130 Tbook@geolyn.com or William White with the City of Salisbury Department of Infrastructure and Development at 410-548-3170.

I think the traffic circle will be better than the previous set-up for vehicles turning onto Riverside Drive, Camden and Carroll Streets, and will especially work well with the restaurant/retail space being developed along the river on Riverside across from Brew River. The part I DON'T understand is how it's going to work with traffic leaving the circle and turning north onto Mill Street. Currently the worst existing problem is this traffic pattern --- the cars turning north onto Mill Street get backed up at the Mill/W. Main traffic light. The circle does nothing to help this. And what's going to happen when cars are backed all the way up into the circle? I don't get it. Unless there's some major change with the Mill/W. Main light I'm unaware of.....
of course Division St is torn up--so no exit there--RT 13 is a mess--I guess they don't want anyone leaving Salisbury once you are here--timing of all these projects was done by an infantile Mayor--who basically everyone thinks is an idiot
A traffic circle would work well there except for the two additional lights on the way to 50. Now there will just be jams in the circle
So ridiculous. The mayor is obsessed with the White House and thinks he can run a national election. All the problems in Salisbury and he spends millions on these never ending projects. Ruining business downtown.
It's a real mess right now getting into town at rush hour. The backup is spilling in RT 13 causing many problems at rush hour.
I now have to drive miles out of my way and take the bypass to get to the south side of town. It is a true cluster!!!!
I just recd an e-mail from the city reference all the grants Jake is receiving for the city think your scratching your heads now wait to see what he does with all this grant $. For sure you will not see it repairing the roads or cleaning up the construction sites from across where the FESTIVAL was held all the way up Rt 13 North. We the public have no say were just tax payers that he and all his minions decide what to do. Thank you all you Child Jake voters your worse than the Democrats in the House of Representatives and the Dems running for election no thought process at all.
I am totally against ALL traffic circles, but it will be interesting to see how they time the NEW traffic lights on the circle after this thing fails.
Years ago, some states had a great idea-traffic circles. They didn’t work, so they eliminated them and installed traffic lights. Now somebody has this “new” great idea-traffic circles! Do they never learn!
I believe the easiest and cheapest way to fix the congestion problem would have been to PROPERLY time the traffic lights using computers programmed to traffic flow 24/7 365 days a year.
I want to see a ten minute animated cartoon rendering of what traffic flow will look like from 200' at morning and evening weekday rush hours.

wtf? why not do this work after rush hours through the night for lessimpact? or could be completed even quicker if worked more hours of the day!
We regret any inconvenience . . . . .
Thanks for the laugh.
hey 136, the workers can't work at night due to the high crime rate. someone would definitely be shot or robbed. no one other than jake and his rainbow warriors venture downtown at night. his warriors aren't scared, they will bust you in the head with their pocketbooks just like aunt esther used to do to fred. LET THAT GAY FLAG FLY HIGH. great job jake
Rode by there yesterday and today and the workers out there were ALL standing around "holding the trucks down on the pavement". One guy yesterday was literally moving dirt around from Pike to another but no work being done
Buttplug from Bendover, Indiana has been doing the same thing to his town. Jake endorsed him, and is following his lead. Next will be "smart" sewers. We already have the LGBTQ parade....
I agree, the lights need to be timed better. Also, due to the backup north on 50 going left at Mill Street, someone is going to be whacked bad from behind. The left turning lane is not long enough, plus drivers are blocking the box, stopping traffic going south on 50. BTW, circles don't work and the state agrees with us in this circumstance.
Top Secret:
The plan is to draw unsuspecting hordes to the FolkedFest and then they'll find there's no available avenue of escape because the streets are all torn up. Best of all there'll be more bikes than the Tour de France!
Mare will be getting plaque from Ripley's for longest continuous FB posting as he elaborates on his personal genius.
Good times!
Looking forward to my settlement from the inevitable accident awaiting. Thank you Jake I'll put the money to good use

I was just thinking that maybe Jake Day is pushing this Homo Parade on us in Ghettobury and maybe he is trying to get Pete Buttplug to be his Master of Ceremonies for the Parade. I know he got the woman singer to do something but he loves and idolizes Petey Buttplug! Jake is a sick little BOI and you idiots keep voting for this Socialist MORON! Wake up, IDIOTS!!
But "Jake Day does great things for Salisbury" doesn't he Beth Reid, you dumb RINO Moron!!
Beth isn't the only RINO is Salisbury, there are many more.
Yeah let’s jam up roads to the hospital on all sides- Rt50’tp Mill, Rt50 to Division. Rt13 to Vine, Waverly and now Carroll St both ways. Heaven help you if you are in the back of an ambulance. Instead of a fire boat, the SFD should have bought small ambulance helicopters.
2:56 I'm sure the construction road workers are highly capable of defending themselves from jakie's main street thug wanna be's or his rainbow warriors
Mill street is like a wash board, rougher than a corn cobb on your butt. It will shake your teeth lose. There is enough businesses and traffic on Mill street for the city to make it comfortably pass able
Between the roundabout back ups and the condition of rt 13 you cannot get anywhere, what a mess
haha ha, enjoy it, Salisbury. It was your election to lose.
Too many major road projects going on at once on critical streets. I especially love how those cars turning left onto Mill Street from Rt. 50 go through the light on Rt. 50 just so they can sit in the middle of the Rt. 50 and Mill Street intersection and block eastbound Rt. 50 traffic. So glad to see all those cyclists using the two new bike lanes on Waverly Drive. Not really because I rarely see a cyclist using the lanes. What that configuration did do was put cyclists using those lanes at greater risk. Even though it's required by law, most cyclists don't have a light on their bike for when it's dark. Bikes using the lane and traveling south in what is essentially the northbound lane are at risk of being hit by cars stopping at stop signs intersection Waverly from Rt. 13. Cars turning right onto Waverly from one of these intersection streets will most likely stop and yield for traffic coming from the left and not from the right. Even if driver's do check to the right, and if a bike doesn't have a light on it, it's possible the driver won't see the bike and will pull out and strike it. Bottomline is, the work on Waverly was a huge waste of money that could have been directed to a much more pressing traffic problem. The Salisbury Beltway, aka roundabout, will have vehicles stopped within the roundabout because of the lights at Mill and Main and Mill and Rt. 50. Cars in the roundabout from Riverside will be fighting with the vehicles on Carroll to get into the stream of traffic to make the light. It's going to get ugly.
Glad to see the LGBTQ parade. What does the Q stand for?
No right turn from 50 or w main st. Problem solved.
