A Viewer Writes....Waste of Delmar Taxpayers Money

Part 2. There is a BIG story here if you are interested. The Town is trying to subvert the will of the voters. The Town Manager and council are disregarding the LAW. They are wasting tax payers money to pay for legal fees to fight what the voters expressly voted for.

Worse thing they can do is accept the union....lose money for dues that the families can no doubt use! If any employee does there job and follows there employee handbook guidelines why need someone else to speak in your behalf? It eliminates the communication between the employer and the employee directly with involving a third party! Save your money.....

3:45 Ever heard of a company leader or foreman that is a bully. Lots of peoples' heads swell when given a leadership position. Unions take some power from that bully

You shouldn’t comment if you have no clue about a law enforcement agency or collective bargaining. These officer have to have a negotiated contract that is binding to increase their pay and keep their benefits. This is not your run of the mill job and these officers deserve to be paid well for the job they do. They put the uniform on and go to work like everyone else. However they don’t have any idea if they will make it home from their shift. Long hours and not to mention the potential for never returning home. Congratulations Delmar PD and good luck with your future contract.

If they do there job they will be paid accordingly! So does a paid fireman, pest control employees, McDonalds employees, Security folks all where uniforms and have assigned duties to perform and are evaluated on their performance.....Law Enforcement is exactly the same ALTHOUGH they have greater risk but it doesn’t change the fact that job performance is what each one is evaluated on!! Due the job....which ever job you have....to the best of your ability, on time to work, stick to break and lunch times and look for ways to perform the job more efficiently and every place of employment will reward accordingly!

I don’t know about Delmar and their pay and performance reviews but I can tell you from experience that unless one is promoted in a municipality job everyone gets the same pay raise regardless of their performance unless they are under
probation. So a person who gives 100 per cent every day gets the same pay raise as the guy who is giving 75% every day. So 8:24 your comment about rewarding accordingly is not always true especially in government jobs.
