Name of Suspect: Dashield, Deandre W; 32 of Salisbury, MD

Location: Delaware Ave and RT 50, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 12-11-19, at 515 pm, a Deputy made a traffic stop in the area of Delaware Ave and Rt 50 for a registration violation. A passenger in the vehicle, Deandre Wintray Dashield, had an active arrest warrant through the Salisbury Police Department. The Deputy arrested Dashield and found that Mr Dashield was in possession of CDS and paraphernalia. Dashield was taken before a District Court Commissioner at Central Booking.
Charges: CDS Possession-not marijuana; Possession of drug paraphernalia
Name of Suspect: Whittington, Lila E; 71, of Willards, MD
Date of Incident: 11 December 2019
Location: 35000 block of Rayne Rd, Willards, MD
Narrative: On 12-11-19, a Deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 35000 block of Rayne Rd, Willards, for the reported neglect of a vulnerable adult. The complainants reported that Lila Whittington left many exterior windows to the house open while outside temperatures reached the 20’s during the evening. Deputies learned that an elderly, vulnerable adult lived in the house with Lila Whittington. Deputies found that the vulnerable adult was bedridden, and was unable to close the windows and turn up the heat. Mrs Whittington was advised by the Deputy and by the complainants that the house must remain at a livable temperature while the vulnerable adult was also residing in the house. The windows were closed, and the house was warm when the Deputy left the scene.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence later in the evening. The caller reported that Mrs Whittington opened the windows again, and the house was getting very cold. Deputies arrived to find that Mrs Whittington had once again opened the windows and a door to the house, letting the house get dangerously cold. Mrs Whiitington was arrested and taken to a District Court Commissioner at Central Booking. The victim was cared for by family members.

What a novel idea.... perhaps this kind of crap wouldn't happen.
Your right 1:11, unfortunately some family members have to rely on help because they cannot pay bills and look after people at the same time. I have a friend who cares for a father with Dementia, She does not get enough money from his social security to pay for round the clock care. He lives with her and she has to pay her own bills as well. If she were to surrender him to the state his treatment would be worse. He wanders off and then he does not know who she is when she tries to get him and becomes combative. it's sad but she does not have any alternative.
Negligent of a vulnerable adult?
Sounds more like attempted murder.
