A Long Island man and kid confronted a would-be deer hunter scoping out the territory, resulting in a heated discussion about the ethics of hunting animals.
The deer hunter, identified by The New York Post as 30-year-old Brooklyn resident Dominick Lobifaro, recorded a video of the confrontation.
“Hey, the kids wanna know — why you wanna kill deer?” the man asked Lobifaro, who was sitting in his vehicle.
“Cuz I eat them,” said Lobifaro.
“What did the f****** deer do to you?” ask the boy, becoming emotional.

Northwest Woodsman: Ever since my thirty months in country in Vietnam, and subsequent law enforcement careers, I make it my policy to only hunt those who have the ability to shoot back. I can’t imagine me killing a helpless and unarmed animal like a deer or even a rabbit and don’t give me that putting meat on the table either. If you want to shoot and kill something, try the infantry.

I wouldn't kill a deer even though I would like to after I hit a deer on an interstate and totalled my beautiful car. Felt bad for the deer - he was only crossing the road. I don't think it is right to approach someone to question why you kill deer. 1st he has a gun and 2nd he has a license. Take it up with the officials - don't put your children in a bad position.

Father seems unfazed at the language that CHILD is using. I can't even imagine what would have happened if I would have used that language at that age and directed it to an adult. Parents are not parenting anymore. They just want to be friends and chums with their kids. It will backfire!
My father survived WWII. Came home with purple heart, bronze star, combat medal ad valor, and ribbons. Never, ever talked about it, and loved to hunt. No one is wrong on their perspective after those experiences on what they like to do, as long as it's legal. I see both sides.

Our hunters of today aren't actually hunters.
They bait animals. It's like shooting
fish in a barrel and they think they've accomplished
a Great thing with their trophy heads. I find
them utterly disgusting !
The child has no business speaking to an adult like that. Of course people who hunt have pets it's not the same thing. My husband hunts and I love eating it. Was this family asking questions vegetarians? It's ok not to like hunting but maybe that Dad could grow up and explain that different strokes, different folks.

Ok, first off, I agree with almost all of your posts, i like most of your thought processes but I have other arguments here.
1. I am ready to shoot back at people who are shooting at me when the civil war breaks out, right after trump make a the snowflakes cry again.
2. Deer meat is tasty, nutritious and delicious.
3. If we did not thin the herds, sickness and starvation would get them anyway, and they would suffer horrible lives and deaths.
4. This one is not so important but this cuts down on thousands of automobile accidents every year.
5. Please keep posting because I love your patriotism
You are wrong. Some hunter do bait hunt. Many do not. Many states do not allow it. It does not matter in maryland because without baiting there is still a million acres of food in the fields anyway
I go deer hunting with a pocket knife. I can get close enough using my skills of stealth
