On Twitter, the president criticized California's governor for his management skills while praising the firefighters.
President Donald Trump threatened Sunday to cut off California from federal funding to aid in dealing with wildfires that have burned across the state during dry winds this fall.
Trump tweeted Sunday that California Gov. Gavin Newsom has done a "terrible job of forest management." He tweeted that when fires rage, the governor comes to the federal government for help. "No more," the president tweeted.
Newsom responded to the President with a tweet saying, "You don't believe in climate change so you are excused from this conversation."

Yeah. Tax payers from other states should not have to pay for California's lack of land management,lack of common sense, liberal, stupidity.

Governor, You can not read the future but you can study the past. Wildfires in your state is not a new event. I miss the good old days when they started with lightning, or is that now a result of climate change. People please ask the fire fighters how to control this. Ignition, fuel,and oxygen remove any one and there is no fire. Sorry Gov , got to go with President Trump and real science on this one.
From what I read this morning on another news site, over half of the forest land in CA is owned by the federal government.
Put all the electrical grid underground and we will be safe from fires and blizzard and hurricane power outages. That project would keep a lot of people employed for a long time
Great recipe: blow the money intended for protection, then expect other people's money when the unprotected assets are lost because you actually made laws that prevented using the money to protect yourself.

Who pays for that? Understand the much increased cost of underground vs overhead. Also understand that any rate increases must be approved by psc/bpw or bpu and not automatically approved to recoup. Recognizing the utility is a for profit business, it's pretty stinking important to consider.
Agreed, as long as land management is ignored this will be CA problem and theirs alone, they need to pay for it, not the Federal government.
Taxpayers in other states shouldn’t have to pay for California’s lack of sustainable forestry. Sorry but it’s their problem. If they don’t want it to continue maybe they should vote for smarter people in their government.
