Below is the entire Bike PIA for everyone's review. Form your own opinion, and let us hear what you think.

Mr. King,
In response to your request for Costs of building/creating bike lanes citywide. This should include ALL aspects of the creation of theses lanes; such as widening lanes, boardwalk lanes, the bike/walking bridge across route 13 (this is where the bill boards used to be), paint, labor, anterior construction needed, etc... I want all these to be broken down line by line. I would also like the money set aside for future construction/consideration of bike lanes (I was at the last council meeting and the council approved ANOTHER 3.3 million dollars to fund the bike lanes). I would like to know how much grant money (and where it came from) they used and the amount of city taxes was used to create these bike lanes. I would also want to know all contractors that have been used for this construction that received more than $3000 in pay for their services and all companies that were used to procure needed construction materials over $1000. I want this all line by line - year by year in spreadsheet form with totals. 2016-2019 (and future bid winners and for what amounts of money they are set to receive),   please see the following information and attached documents.  Answers will be provided in the order with which the questions occur in your request:
1.     Costs of building/creating bike lanes citywide. This should include ALL aspects of the creation of theses lanes; such as widening lanes, boardwalk lanes, the bike/walking bridge across route 13 (this is where the bill boards used to be), paint, labor, anterior construction needed, etc... I want all these to be broken down line by line
Please see the attached Excel spreadsheets. Also, please note that the highlighted project above is a Maryland State Highway Administration project, so you will need to reach out that agency for details.
2.      I would also like the money set aside for future construction/consideration of bike lanes (I was at the last council meeting and the council approved ANOTHER 3.3 million dollars to fund the bike lanes).

There are no bids currently open for bicycle related infrastructure, but there is $300,000 allotted for bike infrastructure work in the FY2020 budget.  The 3 million dollar figure is an estimate for all of the work outlined in Ordinance 2547 (attached), as established in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan, which is a planning document and does not reflect the actual costs of the projects, as they have not been bid yet.  You can find the budget online here: https://salisbury.md/departments/finance/budget-information  You can find the CIP online here: https://salisbury.md/departments/finance/capital-improvement-plan  Salisbury’s Bicycle Network Plan can be found here: https://salisbury.md/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/SalisburyBikeNetworkPlan_Adopted_12122016.pdf
3.     I would like to know how much grant money (and where it came from) they used
Please see the attached Excel spreadsheets. Projects 29024, 29025, 29029 and 29033 are grant funded, while 48046 is City funded.  Additionally, the resolutions which you’ll find attached contain the details of the grants.  You can find the list of City resolutions here: https://salisbury.md/departments/city-clerk/city-resolutions

4.     …and the amount of city taxes was used to create these bike lanes
This figure would be total of the City funded projects.
5.    I would also want to know all contractors that have been used for this construction that received more than $3000 in pay for their services and all companies that were used to procure needed construction materials over $1000
The attached Excel spreadsheets contain the names of any and all contractors who worked on these projects.
6.     future bid winners and for what amounts of money they are set to receive
There are no bids at the moment for bike infrastructure work.  When projects do go to bid, you may access that information through the City’s Procurement portal: https://salisbury.procureware.com/Bids
Sincerely,
Christopher M. Demone

Waste of time and money, for what???? Like 1 or 2 people who bike in a year??? This is just stupid, you can't even get out of wawa anymore becasue of the traffic now being single lane... These city dumb-asses just want to make things more difficult, and harmful and waste as much money as they can... Why do you morons keep let them??????

Your preaching to the choir on here. You want to turn heads with this info you need to put it in the paper or buy spots on T.V. People on here hate Jake day and this info really makes no difference other than to dispise him more. You need the thousands of people in the city to see this that do read this blog..
I can't stand Jake day. But this means nothing to me. It won't make me dislike him more.

So I guess an equal amount of ire must be directed at our State government because they are giving grants for stupid projects like this and an unnecessary fire boat. Our pinhead chipmunk mayor can't help but take the "free money" even when it actually results in a hassle for SBY citizens.
So when the snow plows take out the zebra turds will the state demand that it be fixed since it is now the design of the road? The city is responsible for upkeep.
This only covers painting lines on the road, signs, 3 bike racks and 4 information kiosks. This says NOTHING about all the other unnecessary work that is being done, who's paying for it and who's getting paid.

"Pinhead chipmunk mayor"... LOL!!!

I left that crap hole years ago but still read the blog. A few weeks ago I had the "pleasure" of driving down one of the roads raped by the new bike lanes. All I have to say is You're kidding me, right? Even the seagull century will be screaming about this as they can no longer ride 10 abreast and screw up traffic for 2 days. I love the Zebra Turd comment, how fitting. Wait till some idiot of a bicycle hits one and is flung into the path of a vehicle and dies. Who gets sued then ahole Jake? Oh. it's you.

I don't need to look in the mirror.
You.. need to realize, you want Day gone, Then King is going to need to spend alot of money with newspaper and T.V. ads to publish this stuff. People on here already know this crap. He needs to spend thousands of dollars, on putting this material in front of people who don't read this blog..
And he's not going to do that. Putting it on here is a waste of time.

I was just at the park and saw the empty bike racks and some big sign about that ghost ride share program. Ghost you ask? where are the bikes. Not one bike. Wasnt some government idiot touting the new bike share program? What bike share program. There are no bikes.

More government waste.

Oh and what about that youth center on Nayor St? The empty one that has never opened or been used? How much of your money was wasted on that. I drive past that often and have yet to see one youth there.

They just passed on a council vote 2 months ago to blow another $3.3 million dollars on bike lanes.
