'In God We Trust' law for S.D. schools ripped by atheists: 'Brainwashing'

The Freedom from Religion Foundation ripped South Dakota’s “In God We Trust” law this week as a form of “brainwashing” applied to children.

Students in The Mount Rushmore State will return to the classroom in the coming days to find the famous motto somewhere within the building.

The law, signed by Gov. Kristi Noem in March, effects 149 school districts.

“Some have plaques, others have it painted on the wall, maybe in a mural setting,” Associated School Boards of South Dakota executive director Wade Pogany said, CBS reported Friday. “[One school incorporated it into] their freedom wall. They added that to a patriotic theme.”

The Freedom From Religion Foundation co-president Annie Laurie Gaylor has blasted the legislation.

Who are these complainants? Name them. don't settle for "someone complained". We all know what liars they are. Why depend on heresay. If they feel that strongly to change the USA, then they should show their faces.

What a waste of time and tax dollars.

Look, I get Christians. You feel the need to insert your religion into every place it wasn't asked for, nor needed. It's like the emperor wears no clothes... you think the louder and more visible you are, the more it makes your baseless claims true. It's another way you can perpetuate the lie that America was founded on Christianity... it was not.

Now you have decided that you know what's better for other people's children. It's appalling.

To hide behind the stance of "it's the national motto" is a lie. It's dishonest. This is just the excuse used to ratchet your religion into where it doesn't belong.

This only exposes your insecurities, and what your true nature really is. And it's shameful.
