WASHINGTON, D.C. (WBFF) - Two people were arrested during an incident involving the burning of a U.S. flag in downtown Washington, D.C., today.
Two Secret Service officers also suffered minor injuries, reported the Secret Service.
Officers responded at about 5:30 p.m. to the incident on Pennsylvania Avenue, "involving an individual who was burning an American flag outside the limits of a permit that had been issued by the National Park Service," according to a news release.
Two people were arrested, one for felony assault on a police officer and malicious burning, and the other for obstructing a police investigation and resisting arrest.
