Why the Left Mocks the Bible

At PragerU, we have released about 400 videos on virtually every subject outside of the natural sciences and math. Along with 2 billion views, the videos have garnered tens of thousands of comments. So we have a pretty good handle on what people most love and most hate. For example, any video defending America or Israel inevitably receives many negative responses. But no videos elicit the amount of contempt and mockery that videos defending religion, explaining the Bible or arguing for God do.

Why is that?

There is a good reason. The Bible and the left (not liberalism, leftism) are as opposed as any two worldviews can be. While there are people who claim to hold both a Bible-based worldview and left-wing views, these people are few in number. Moreover, what they do is take left-wing positions and wrap them in a few Bible verses. But on virtually every important value in life, the left and the Bible are diametrically opposed.

Here are a few examples:

The biblical view is that people are not basically good. Evil therefore comes from within human nature. For the left, human nature is not the source of evil. Capitalism, patriarchy, poverty, religion, nationalism or some other external cause is the source of evil.

This article is spot on and exactly the reason we have so many issues in our society. A simple set of rules has been laid out for all of us, and we have free reign to accept and comply, or ignore and perish. Our forefathers knew this to be true, and our republic was founded on Christian principles that this nation would be a Christian nation under God - period. That said, religious freedom was also recognized - that as this republic would be accepting of others, but again, this nation is a Christian one. Those coming to our shores were not expected to be Christian, and we would be accepting of that, but the rule of law in the United States was built around biblical teachings and God's word. Not atheists - not hindus - not muslims.

Liberals think that they can take God out of man's equation, watch how fast we decline if they succeed. I pray we never see that day!

Well that does not make a bit of sense. Capitalism, patriarchy, religion and nationalism are not external existing constructs. Humans created them all. Those that benefit from them think it's their devote faith that rewards them and those that find themselves fodder of such greed tend to be dismissed as not being faithful enough. All faith no matter what religion it is has always been an evolving collective survival trait. Those that weave the tales and tell the story control the masses. It's not like we are born knowing any of it. It's all indoctrination and the words of men. All religions, politics, economics and ideologies are primordial survival myths. How you accept and use them tends to determine how you survive. They are not institutions that favor free will or thinking.

You sound like an over educated idiot that doesn't know the first thing about real life.

5:47 what they wrote is actually a great point. It's a shame that you're so intimidated by their wording that it results in your dismissing it in such a way.

Let us not forget at one point you were able to literally pay the church for your salvation. The people in power of the church were covering up massive sexual assault rings.
