When it comes to safety, dollar-store deals might not be a bargain after all. A 2015 study found 81 percent contained one or more hazardous chemicals. The tests, conducted by the consumer testing group Healthy Stuff, found chemicals associated with cancer, obesity, diabetes, asthma, thyroid and kidney diseases, learning problems, lower IQ, birth defects and early puberty. Here are 10 items you're better off buying elsewhere.
Dollar General issued the following statement regarding the safety of its products:
"...The allegations in this study are in direct conflict with Dollar General’s well-established standards and practices. We strive to provide safe, quality products, as well as our own standards and customers’ expectations. To that end, we have a number of measures in place, including our product safety testing program, to provide assurance that the company’s products either meet or exceed federal and state regulatory standards.

It's all aimed at people who can't afford better. Some the foods' labels read like a drug package insert, filled with unpronounceable ingredient names, insane amounts of sodium and other preservatives, and three times the fat and ten times the sugar that anybody should eat. The non-food fillers and intense flavor chemicals are cheaper to produce than actual food, so the profit margin stays healthy while the customers do not.
Very little real information in this article.
I seriously doubt you avoid this anywhere you shop.
Chlorine for example enters through showers far more than drinking water. Fluoride is poison and very bad for children especially.
The FDA has been committing genocide on Americans for decades. They make us sick so the drug companies can make more money.

Dollar stores are no different than any other stores, most of their merchandise is name brand just like walmart sells. What percentage of "their" products contain "one or more carcinogenics" ? Looks like a conspiracy from walmart because the dollar stores are nibbling at their profits. Thank you dollar stores for being convenience.

Actually they are different. Some of the products they sell with the same name on them as other stores are not made in this country. We used to get root beer from the dollar store. It gave my spouse headaches which had never happened before. Come to find out it is NOT made here in the states like the same brand is that we got from another store. Check the labeling. They are all not the same.
Check out the ingredients in shampoos and there will be no question as to why so many are bald! Write down the ingredients and then look each one up it will make your hair stand on end or what's left of it!
