Senator Ben Cardin

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States. I appreciate your input on this important issue.

I take seriously the Senate’s Constitutional responsibility to provide advice and consent on Presidential judicial nominations. Every decision should be accompanied by a thorough consideration of the nominee’s qualifications, record, and history. Based on what I have seen and unfortunately still have been prevented from seeing on Judge Kavanaugh, I decided to oppose his nomination to the Supreme Court.

I joined many of my colleagues in asking that the confirmation hearings be postponed until the Senate could have adequate time to review all the crucial pieces of Judge Kavanaugh’s record, as is the norm for all other Supreme Court nominees. Unfortunately, we were not given all the information, nor the adequate time necessary for such an important decision.

Our Constitution created the Supreme Court as an independent check and balance against both the executive and legislative branches of government. It has always been my intention to maintain this critical independence and ensure that the highest court in our nation is able to work in the best interests of the Constitution and the American people. This nomination is certain to leave behind an impact on our society that will be felt for decades. I was concerned as to whether Judge Kavanaugh would be an independent voice on the Supreme Court defending individual Constitutional rights against special interests.

Thank you again for contacting me and sharing your concerns regarding the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Hearing from constituents such as you helps me understand the issues that affect Marylanders.

Another Democrat not interested in the good of the country only interested in politics. He needs to GO.

with All due respect you lost my vote. I have had plenty of time to reflect on the issues with obstructionist. It’s a shame that you could not see through the sham or were not strong enough to vote in the best interest for those that put you there.

Been Cardin must think Marylanders are stupid. Ford had no evidence. No witnesses. There was nothing to investigate. How do these people become senators.

He sided with either:

Guilt before proven innocent, or:
The Democrat party solely in opposition to President Trump.

Either of which are wrong by themselves - in this case, he showed his loyalty not to what is right, just, and best for the people as a whole, but to everything that is currently wrong in this country!

Your previous election - and hopefully not reelection will be at the hands of people that are not intelligent enough to understand the difference between themselves and the betterment of the nation!

Shame on you Cardin...Innocent until proven guilty is a very big part of our foundation and court system...Yes; you live in the sewer as one of the sewer creatures...I hope you're drained very soon.

He never listens to those who do not live in his district. He is a lazy bum. Never had a job but politics thanks to his Father who passed on his position to him. He is another welfare Politian who lives off the tax payer while doing nothing but being a puppet for the liberal socialist.

You were not going to vote for him if there’s had been 10 investigation and he came up clean! You were going to follow Party lines, so stop the BS you wrote here! I wish we had lie detector on all of you as you speak!

LIAR.

why even publish this. He is the same person who was soliciting contributions against trump the Friday before memorial day.
When everyone else was asking for respect and prayers for our soldiers,

He should be the poster child for abortion clinics.

No evidence shown against Kavanaugh. Plenty of evidence showing his innocence. Cardin is clearly another biased career politician living off the backs of working taxpayers. This was all about delaying a SCOTUS vote until after mid-term elections as Dems think they will win a majority in House or Senate. I hope American voters wake up and see we are better off with a Republican control congress and WH.

You had months to look into his background. If Jesus Christ himself was a Republican you would not have voted him into office

They had thirty some years to investigate, but, she didn't see the urgency until the dumbocraps had an plan

Montgomery, Prince George, and Baltimore Counties voted him in office. Unfortunately, he'll most likely continue to be in office.

Your own party withheld the information you needed for MONTHS. Don't tell us that you didn't have the time to review it! You're a lying bastion, Ben, and you need to go and take your best friend in this Dianne Feinstein with you.

You are the dirt we need to sweep out of the swamp you help create,

A piece of crap that needs to go. I would advise everyone to make sure you vote him out. We don't need him and his liberal ways!

Cardin was one of many Senators who condemned Kavanagh the day after he was nominated. He NEVER had any intentions on voting to confirm the Judge. Another lying libtard.

Cardin is a party line Democrat, and always has been. From a well-to-do family he inherited a seat in MD legislature before graduating law school. That was in 1967 when LBJ was still president!

Always on the public payroll since. Every 6 years they wake him up and dust him off to try and snag some votes.

The most recent ad, casting him as 'My friend, Ben' is hilarious. He's play acting on a road crew and descending a manhole on a ladder. A guy who hasn't raised a callous in half a century at least!

Almost as retarded as Jake Day posing with with high school ROTC reciting the pledge of allegiance in a suit and sun glasses. If Jake day and his liberal socialist get their way this electronic be illegal and considered an act of treason in a year or so

Tony Campbell stands for local control in education, fiscal responsibility in government - no tax increases - and immigration reform to make America secure again.
Tony Campbell supports President Trump and recognizes that his policies are working.
Voting Tony Campbell for US Senate will end Ben Cardin's stronghold over us and teach the Democratic Party they do not own Marylanders.

I wrote to Cardin to urge him to tell the protestors to stand down after Kavanaugh was confirmed. Still waiting for a response.

What a tool!

Cardin is the worst politician ever to serve in Virginia. He couldn't possibly have anything to do with Maryland.

He needs to go!!

".....should be accompanied by a thorough consideration of the nominee’s qualifications, record, and history."
You mean like we knew all about obama's qualifications and record and history? Yeah, right, you asinine fool.
