We born here's have been hearing these Sonic Booms for years. I think I have been hearing Sonic Booms since at least the early 1970s. Now all of sudden it is big news, probably because we seldom hear one anymore.

According to an article in the DT 5/6 months ago we were told to expect these Sonic Booms. - " NAS Patuxent River Navy's hub for research, will be evaluating jets' ability to break the sound barrier. Flights will taking place three miles offshore from the coast of Delaware to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the Atlantic Test Track. Although most sonic booms generated in this area are never felt or heard on land, occasionally a sonic boom will be felt or heard due to weather conditions or the details of the test flight."

Anyone recall reading that? Wonder how soon can we expect to hear our windows rattling because the Navy has resumed using their training site on Bloodsworth Island. If my memory serves me right, our windows rattled and we heard low pitched booming noise from 1940s to mid 1990s

Bunch of pansies complaining about a little noise. Excuse our noise, it's the sound of freedom.

BS, 9:34, this is the sound of Freedom! Leave them alone, they are making us safe from terrorists!

They will be. Not too harshly, though.

Really? You cant handle the roar of freedom? Pathetic.

Sound of freedom folks.

I don't understand why people are still so surprised by this or even care. We are next to a couple naval air stations and they do need to train.

It's as bad as the people near BWI who want to complain about airplane noise.

People with nothing better to do.

My cats and I will be alright but I don't know about how many chickens pile up and smother themselves in poultry houses.

No laughing matter for farmers.

What was heard was the sound of freedom.

My helper and I were working on a roof yesterday when that boom happened. It startled me so much that I almost lost my footing and could have fallen.

Does anyone know how I can file a claim?

Put a 27 year old in an 29 million dollar machine that goes 1100 miles an hour and he's bound to give it the juice when he can.

If you really want to hear the roar of freedom visit Virginia Beach. They love their jet noise and so do I. It gives you the chills to see these planes fly overhead. America best in action. Oh what a feeling. Move on Maryland.

So they lose a little. Maybe even have to give up a Lexus or two.

Yes. Your company has ignored the EPA safety rules. You are suppose to wear equipment that would prevent a fall off a roof. Just amazed how the Eastern Shore home builders do not adhere to OSHA regulations .

Absolutely correct.
