‘You have to respect the game’: French Open bosses ban Serena Williams’ skin-tight catsuit

French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli says next year’s French Open at Roland Garros tournament will toughen up its dress code – prohibiting form-fitting catsuits such as those Serena Williams donned this year.

In an interview with Tennis Magazine, Giudicelli emphasized that eye-catching, figure-hugging outfits will no longer be allowed at the second Grand Slam tournament of the year.

“I believe we have sometimes gone too far,” he said. “Serena’s outfit this year, for example, would no longer be accepted. You have to respect the game and the place.”

Yes. Those are the rules.

Oh snap!! She's already played the race card once.

She's much too heavy for a cat suit.

Thank goodness! These women of tennis these days are getting to the point of almost wearing nothing on the bottom half, and Serena has twice worn a full body cat suit as well as a short one, both were pretty disgusting!

"You have to respect the game and the place.”

Then why aren't the women still wearing long skirts and tops and men still wearing slacks and polo shirts.

Stupid comment from French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli.

No a bunch of conservative views that women are not OBJECTS and should not be looked at as such idiot!

7:37 Not every man looks at a woman as an object. She should be able to wear whatever the hell she wants.

Players have more freedom of movement with modern performance fabrics but a certain awareness of modesty and tradition is also in the mix. They certainly gave all the players ample information well in advance of next year's event.

Serena is a very talented player and carries herself well. But she missed on this one. IIRC she has a clothing brand so in essence she's modeling what she hopes to sell.
