NFL Cornerback Richard Sherman: Dallas Cowboys Anthem Policy ‘The Old Plantation Mentality’

Super Bowl-winning cornerback Richard Sherman (formerly of the Seahawks, now with the 49ers) says Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suffers from the "old plantation mentality" because Jones is now requiring players to stand during the national anthem's duration.

Last week, Jerry Jones set off a few SJW fuses when he declared that all players must stand during the national anthem, essentially banning them from using company time for political protest.

“Our policy is you stand during the anthem, toe on the line,” Jones said during a team press conference.

Does anyone actually care about this crap any more since no one is actually watching the NFL any more?

Jerry Jones is saying one thing, let see how he intends to enforce it. Oh and speaking of plantation mentality, I bet most of those players are Democrats, the newest version of the old plantations.

There are so many other sports to watch that are all about sporting competition and NOT about politics. I watch sports to get a vacation from politics. The NFL no longer fulfills that requirement.

So, if my boss tells me that i have to work 8-5, is that "plantation mentality"? If she tells me i have to make a certain amount of product, of meet a certain level of productivity, is that "plantation mentality"?
Sherman: you are an EMPLOYEE and on-the-clock when you are on the field. When you take off your uniform, just like the rest of us, you can protest all you want and we won't care. We don't care if you protest off the field. You can tweet all you want. THAT is your right.
When i go to buy a car or buy a house, i don't expect the salesperson to slap a political sticker or put up a political sign on MY PURCHASE - even though that might be their constitutional right. You guys just don't get it. WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS and YOU ARE THE PERFORMER. PERIOD!
Keep disrespecting OUR flag and our anthem on OUR TIME, and we will regard you as a piece of garbage that you keep portraying you are.

So Richard Sherman self-identifies as someone who eagerly competed for the opportunity to work on the plantation, albeit for millionaire's wages, and kept coming back for more of that plantation cash? Sincerity noted. Lack of critical thinking skills also noted. Got it. Guess he'll be reimbursing his college for the space he took up while pretending to learn. Hope he finds a country he likes and settles there.

These are highly paid employees and he's the employer. 'Nuff said.

It represents what it took to gain our freedom as a country, not for a race of unappreciative, whining entitled minded jocks to disrespect. If they want to do something about police brutality then go to the vommucomm and protest. It IS still about the police brutality isn't it? No I didn't think so. It's all about blacks wanting to continue to cry racism and try to extort more money from the liberal weak minded whites. Check this homes, not all of us are liberal or weak. Tread lightly
