Back in my day, we had a party line, so you aleays knew who was on the line. Also knew the operators name.
Ypo can still block people that way.
LOL I can because I still have an old dial phone like that on my kitchen counter. It was here when we bought the house so I redesigned the kitchen around the phone. I love it and use it all the time. Our other house in Northern VA has one on the wall in the kitchen. Same thing when we redid that kitchen-it was around the phone.
My grandson was afraid to use mine. He never said why.
