(SALISBURY, MD) – Investigators from the Maryland State Police State Homicide Unit seek public assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle who is a person of interest in a Salisbury homicide investigation.
Police are seeking the identity of the driver of a red 2012-2017 Hyundai Elantra with Maryland tags, pictured in the photo below in front of the VFW, in the 800-block of West Main Street in Salisbury. Police believe the driver is an African American male. He is not a suspect. He is a person of interest.
The driver of the red Hyundai Elantra is a person of interest in the homicide investigation of Jaquanta S. Walton, aka Jaquonta Walton, 20, of Salisbury, Md. Walton was pronounced dead the morning of June 10, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center after suffering a gunshot wound.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Walton and a friend had been attending a party on June 9, 2017 at the VFW, in the 800-block of West Main Street, Salisbury. The establishment closed at 1:00 a.m. and dozens of people, including the Walton, were out on the parking lot.
Police believe Walton was on the parking lot, when he was approached by an unknown suspect who shot him at least once in the torso, before fleeing the scene on foot. Walton got into a private vehicle and was driven to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was dropped off. No one else on the parking lot when the shooting occurred reported being injured.
Maryland State Police crime scene technicians responded to the scene and processed the area for evidence. Investigators continue to conduct interviews and follow-up on leads as they work to determine what happened and who is responsible.
Anyone with information about the driver of the red Hyundai Elantra or this murder is urged to call Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776. Calls may remain confidential.

10 months ago but don't let math get in your way.
Is this the car the victim got into and was dumped from in front of the emergency room just before he died?
9:54 yeah the only time they talk is when there in our interrogation room otherwise it’s always stop snitching. Biggest snitches ever.
That VFW always seems to have a shooting, At what point does the establishment become a public safety hazard and shut down?
So why so long putting camera information that was there the night of the murder. MSP no so great who dunnits. I guess a thug got hammered so why work it at all.
12:36 PM at least they took him. could have left him there to die.
5:04 PM we are in deep crap if you are a cop because you can't spell.

What is the common denominator to these high numbers of crime?
People.
11:23 Poverty and Minorities. Sorry it is what it is.
Poverty has little to do with it. It is typical tribal marauder behavior that has been loose, uncontrolled and protected by government since at least 1964. I grew up in Snow Hill in the 50s and 60s before the unleashing and we had no crime problems. Currently living on an island off coast of Washington State. I’m here primarily because it is very rural like Snow Hill was once and the demographics are highly favorable. Sighting a minority is rare and unusual and we have very little in the way of crime, particularly violent crime.
6:07 Statement. You sure know that word don’t you. I would bet I’ve talked to you before.
8:07 Coming from someone who doesn’t know how to capitalize.
Got to get real cops to do the job for the circus called the Salisbury Police Department. Bunch of losers.
