Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) underwent surgery at Phoenix’s Mayo Clinic over the weekend due to an intestinal infection and is in "stable condition," according to an announcement from his office Monday evening.
McCain, 81, who has been home in Arizona battling brain cancer for the last few months, recently got an infection connected to diverticulitis, which is a condition caused by pouches forming in the wall of the colon. He has had physical therapy at home in Cornville, Ariz., while he has worked to maintain his duties as the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
"Over the last few months, Senator McCain has been participating in physical therapy at his home in Cornville, Arizona, as he recovers from the side effects of cancer treatment. He has remained engaged on his work as Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and has enjoyed frequent visits from his family, friends, staff and Senate colleagues," the statement said. "Senator McCain and his family are grateful to the senator’s excellent care team, and appreciate the support and prayers they continue to receive from people all over the country."
Glioblastoma, the form of cancer with which McCain was diagnosed, has required him to undergo radiation treatment, according to the Washington Post.

The Main swamper in the the Republican party.
I like Senators who don't have intestinal infections.
I wish the senator the best and hope that he retires very soon-like!
sorry.
When you can't stay awake, have headaches for days, can't walk or climb stairs, and need help getting to the bathroom, the only thing left, I suppose, is to check your bank account to make sure "we, the people" are still paying your salary for laying around sucking on the public teat, even though you're so wealthy you can't remember how many mansions you own.
At eighty one years old and close to death, the grip and greed of power and pompous overindulgence is so great that he just can't give it up.
But he should take a pay cut, at least.
Keep cheering.
You are one sad, bitter, old fart, Insain.
And his legacy will be......?
"Intestinal infection" means cancer has spread from brain to other parts of the body. Not much time left for McCain.
What I see as the worst part of this whole situation is a known traitor of his men in captivity gets better medical treatment than our true Military Heroes are getting. Is this Karma?
Byeeeeee byeeeee
Too bad for the Country.
4:34 if true this is wonderful news! This man hates our president!
Will he get be a full military honors funeral at the National cemetery. He should step down if he can't perform his daily senior duties. Maybe his daughter can take his seat until the next election lol.
Taking $$$$ from the Saudis.
Bush just died comes in 3s.
I hope his fabricated "hero" status dies with him. I'm with Trump. My heroes don't crash military aircraft multiple times, get shot down on a mission, and cave in to the enemy and denounce our country while in captivity. He didn't deserve to be an officer in our military, and he violated his oath to our country. He sold out our country in North Vietnam, and he has been selling out our country ever since he won elected office. If it wasn't for his family, he would be a nobody and a traitor, like he really is. Time for him to let go. Funny how congressmen will never let go of the power until they are dead, no matter how terminal their illness is. If he can't vote on a bill, there will be someone there to push the button for him. He should be REMOVED from his position NOW. He is the epitome of a corrupt congressman. It's WHY he won't let go....
10:13 You are just an idiot repeating what you read on alt right websites. Sad.
I am no fan of his 5:01, and don't have anything against his daughter. What I do have a problem with is these families making a "business" out of public office. Sorta like the fictional show "Blue Bloods" where the whole family is in law enforcement, although I do like the show. Why pass down a seat to a family member. I don't believe in government inheritance.
Lets hope the deaths in 3's is true, Mrs. Bush, this POS Traitor, and Ginsburg.
I don't wish cancer on anyone, but an 80 year-old man with aggressive brain cancer should not be in the position to make the kind of high-impact decisions required of a senator or congressman.

I'm not an idiot, and what do you have against the truth? Pull your head out of your ass and read the history of John McCain's life and military service. Doubt your narrow mind will, though. All you do is drink the political propaganda cool aid. McCain's no hero in my book, no matter how much his family had to do with his military career, and how much they had with his service being portrayed as "heroic." You probably are clueless why I say that, because you know nothing of his family background. Get an education. Its much better than an opinion.
