Breaking News: Speaker Paul Ryan will not seek re-election, he is telling colleagues, signaling the difficulty House Republicans face in the midterms
Speaker Paul D. Ryan will tell House Republican colleagues on Wednesday that he will not seek re-election in November, ending a brief stint atop the House and signaling the peril that the Republican majority faces in the midterm elections.
I remember when he first ran he praised himself as a budget whiz who was gravely concerned about our financial future. The 2009 budget was the largest in US history with $1.4 trillion and we're expecting 1/5 trillion by 2028. So he basically created our largest deficits and then quit.
Good move towards draining the D.C.Swamp. Next, RINO's Mitch McConnell and John McCain. Also Slimey Democ-Rats Chucky Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters. Fire these Crooks and Make Ametica Great Again!
Paul Ryan now enjoys the peace of mind that when he turns 50—in less than two years—he will enjoy a defined-benefits pension of about $79k annually for the rest of his life, funded by the same taxpayers whose Social Security he's been trying to cut or privatize his entire career.
Maybe we will never know his real reason for jumping ship but I hope it is as he said,,,,to spend more time with his children. And the quicker he gets out of this mess the less muck he will have on him.
11:48 that level of complacency with legislators that perform as poorly as Ryan are the reason the middle class will remain the doormat of America. Too rich for help, too poor for a voice in politics. It's about time our legislators lived with the laws they make for us.

I'm sure you voted for Bush in 2004. That makes you a hipocrit
Paul Ryan isn't the 'squeeky clean' guy he presents himself to be. Hopefully it will be exposed soon.

Republican logic: as long as they're not Democrats
Ryan wanted to raise retirement age to 70 and then he retired at 48
The worst Republican is still better than the best Democrat
You realise you're proving 11:48's point right? Cant make this stuff up...
With a pension that's higher than the salaries of the majority of working class Americans he swore to represent
