A year ago some inmates killed a guard at the jail in Delaware. While this was a horrible incident, WBOC literally ran that story for 30+ days straight and even recently did a recap on the one year anniversary, interesting.
A few weeks ago FOUR thugs robbed a local Bank and guess what, they've not only NOT been caught, your local media outlets have done no follow up. We continue to deliver crime like there's no tomorrow locally, including a story yesterday about a man getting jumped/mugged at the City Park in Salisbury. There's been NOTHING exposed about this, (once again) by your local media.
Does it really take getting shot and even killed before they'll publish it, because they have to? My overall point here is, citizens need to be informed. The MEDIA is our main tool to give us the temperature, (TEMPICHUR) of what's going on in our communities.
Yesterday I saw a comment on the mugging article that brought up the upcoming Festival. So your media and Mayor is LYING to the public. They do NOT want incidents like getting mugged hitting the top 10 Google search results and Ladies & Gentlemen I can tell you first hand, this is exactly what the powers to be are so afraid of with Salisbury News. This is why they hate what we do, that's a fact.
It's time for some major changes. We need elected officials who are willing to face the crime problem head on and not try to hush it up. In fact yesterday, (referencing the mugging) Mayor Jake Day asked the Family to get off social media and discuss it directly with him instead.
If you or I were Mayor we'd come forward and say, we have a problem and we need to fix it immediately. If you or I can't seem to fix this major problem, well, we shouldn't get re elected, should we. Instead, Liberals cover it up, as if it never happened and Joe Albero, (SBYNews) is the Anti Christ. Wake the hell up people and demand change before you or someone in your Family gets killed or becomes yet another victim.

I do understand this media of the left. It is everywhere including WBOC .
They think that showing the public how to make crab cakes is more important than saving you and your family from violent crimes. Just keep doing what you do best , telling the truth . Most of us are smart enough to know what's happening . The SU students don't have a clue , they will learn the hard way .
No local elected officials have anything to do with crime control, other than to parrot the usual platitudes during the election cycle. None are versed in law enforcement (except in the receiving end) and none are motivated enough to do something as simple as sign up for the SPD's community police academy or have regular informational meetings with any law enforcement officials, city, county or state.
The question is, what could (or would) they do if they did?
Dead on Joe (so to speak). Like it was said, the Mayor and the Police Chief need to go. It is also the Chiefs responsibility to recognize the crime and the issues at hand. That would include these types of violent crimes where she should be making a statement and telling us a plan of action. I understand all the details of what action is being taken to protect the community, but let us know something. Salisbury-----WE HAVE TO GET RID OF THE MAYOR. Since he refuses to make a change at the chiefs level, knowing all the vacancy issues and that top level of command failing, electing a new mayor will be the only way to get a change in command. The officers at SPD are in turmoil and the department is dying. It starts with the command staff and filters down. Since we have failure at that level, the crime will continue out of control with no leadership. Jake is to dumb to realize this and make any changes. Lets hope a good Candidate steps up soon and I promise the city will rally around him or her with overwhelming support. Jake has waited to long to make this change and it too will cost him reelection. He is just to dumb to realize it....
Jake, Jim and Barrie have done everything in their power to keep Joe Albero or SBYNews away from anything to do with crime. That being said, just imagine what I/We don't know! When a Mayor begs someone to break away from social media to discuss a mugging privately, that's a serious problem. When a Mayor breaks the law and pees into a sink at a local bar and the three women are afraid of losing their jobs, #metoo????? And this guy is still on Council and trying to run for any position available! Talk about a load of BS. These snowflake liberals who dismissed this action alone clearly show you they are a group of nut jobs only interested in bucking the system and the founding laws and beliefs of what created America in the first place. You have a Chief of Police who shut down the Police Department for multiple days to investigate a DELAWARE crime and had no jurisdiction whatsoever. Yeah, you need new leadership in a big way.
You must understand that crime is in the hands of lawyers and judges and money having said that , until we change our ways of punishment we will never curb crime. This blog is my only news source .

There has been a leadership vacuum in Salisbury and in the County for years. I don't know how the City can ever come back. If Culver had a stronger, smarter Council, he could do a lot more. Frankly, the past mayors and the Pollitt administration/councils created such a mess - good, smart people don't want to get involved.
Biggest problem - too many voters who aren't intelligent or want "free stuff" and just don't care about the future of our area. Joe, you should publish the number of people/households leaving Wicomico county and the wealth that reflects. The majority of people moving in want low-income housing and handouts. Salisbury has truly become the armpit of Maryland.
Before people jump on here telling me to leave - I would if I could get the value out of my house. Just another example of how things have gone downhill.

The difference in our community is that we have someone like you helping to open the eyes and provide information others normally wouldn't have, or make time to figure out. I agree with @8:10 comment about judges and lawyers but there again it all trickles down to who is being charged, who knows who, and how it makes someone else look for a leg up. I've personally called about a known heroine/drug house and NOTHING has happened. I've called out individuals at the top getting loans and financial things they should NOT that is hidden. The only thing I got was laughed at and a bitter taste in my mouth. It's a shame that we as a community have to question who we trust with information we have or we have to tiptoe around things or overlook them because of the corruption that occurs.
Salisbury News is my ONLY news source. Every other place is lacking in truth or reporting what's really happening. Please don't stop Joe.

I am very sorry the local news is being covered just not by WBOC. I went to the 47 news website last night I was blown away by all the news that they had on there that happened in Salisbury on Monday, there were 2 robberies(one was the City Park and one on 13N) and also a high speed chase on 50 and the bypass which I did not see being covered by WBOC. 47 also covered the school lockdown on Monday so forget WBOC they are determined that we are not supposed to know what is happening in Salisbury and hopefully the Mayor and Police Chief do not silence 47 news because they seem to be getting a lot of news lately.
Too late the city has reigned in 47 news also, all the stories that were on there last night showing how bad things were in Salisbury Monday are no longer available very strange since there was a lot happening in Salisbury Monday and they had news stories up last night and they have all now disappeared.

The same scenario is going to play out at ECI. There isn't enough staff (guards) to cover 50% of the incidents there and also maintain order among the inmates. Only a matter of time before there's a guards death while it probably won't ever be solved same as Delaware. If the local people only knew what the real story was behind the fences there'd be a riot... But it would be outside the fence. D.O.C. across the Bay could care less. If the Federal Prison Commission was to get involved I think there would be huge changes.

Why is that important to you? What is an NK style military parade? I don't think you know the definition of a primadonna since you have applied it to our president. He certainly is no female singer and he does know how to work in a team. Narcissistic would probably be the word you are searching for.
A lot of people dodged the draft involving the Vietnam war. People were burning draft cards and moving to Canada. We had a President who pardoned each of them.
The only information I can deduce from your statement is you don't like President Trump. Other than that, do you have anything else to share?

A white officer was shot and killed years ago that worked at ECI when he was traveling from work, they hardly covered it and they never found who shot him. There was a rumor it might have been a girlfriend/wife but no charges ever filed.
