Clarke: Fla. students' gun control push has 'George Soros' fingerprints all over it'

Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. insinuated Wednesday that student survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting were being manipulated by Democratic billionaire George Soros to organize for gun control.

In a tweet, the former Wisconsin sheriff wrote that media appearances and an activism campaign from students of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School against gun violence had "George Soros' fingerprints all over it."

We want our children to be safe right? What is the disadvantage to more thorough background checks and a wait time for a firearm? Personally as a gun owner I've never had a reason to walk in and walk out with a gun. We all know "gun free zones" don't work, no one is disputing that. The problem we have is that our schools should not be barracks. I do not feel comfortable with a teacher, regardless of training hours, pulling that trigger in an environment where a child can easily be shot by accident. There is a problem with our mental healthcare system and a problem with our background checks if I can be on a no fly list but walk in and out of a gun store in some states the same day.

It is not a total mental health problem, but a behavioral problem. Kids today do not know what discipline is they have been given a free pass on everything. They don't know actions have consequences. Discipline has been taken away from the home and our schools and this is what you end up with.

Don't you believe just the idea that a teacher is armed and trained will deter an active shooter?? Come on man....think!! Would YOU risk going into a non "Gun free zone" to kill knowing that before you get off the first round you make take one between the eyes??? I think not. Just knowing that you may be walking into an armed individual is a deterrent.

The population can never control the perpetrators of this crime.
They have an unlimited budget and rule by secrecy.
It is futile to resist.
