Attorney General Frosh Joins Coalition of Attorneys General Challenging Suspension of Clean Water Rule

Rollback of Clean Water Rule Violates Federal Law, Threatens To Undermine Decades of Clean Water Protections in MD and Across Country

BALTIMORE, MD –
Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today joined a coalition of 11 Attorneys General in opposing the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) suspension of the 2015 “Clean Water Rule” – a federal regulation designed to ensure the nation’s lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands receive proper protection under the federal Clean Water Act. With its “Suspension Rule,” the Administration replaces the Clean Water Rule with confusing, nearly 40-year-old regulations that had been in place prior to the 2015 rule.

The Attorneys General charge that, in suspending the Clean Water Rule, the EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Army Corps) violated federal law by taking action “with inadequate public notice, insufficient record support, and outside their statutory authority.”

“Maryland has sacrificed, worked and fought to save the Chesapeake Bay,” said Attorney General Frosh. “Suspension of the Clean Water Rule undermines decades of progress and threatens our supply of clean drinking water. This is another illegal assault on critical environmental protections by the EPA and Administrator Pruitt.”

What it does is make it more costly to develop land in Maryland and does nothing to make water safer.

As the attorney general, you clowns should know, it is not illegal to roll back a law, it is that simple for you simple minded fools...

Really, or is this just another knee-jerk by our state's AG, reacting before reading?

Frosh just plain has to go. That act regulated every puddle in every yard that may form once a year or two. Trump is getting rid of over the top burdensome regulations. The Clean Water Rule did nothing to clean up the Bay. There is nothing wrong with making rules that actually do the Bay good without taking away property rights.
Frosh makes me ashamed to call myself a Marylander.

I really wish Trump would activate the US military and start incarcerating these misfits. I can assure you - Trump would find little or no resistance from Marylanders. Frosh was and always has been a left-wing radical.

This is part of the 'resistance' being funded by Soros. A group of leftist AGs filing nuisance lawsuits.. a very elaborate (and expensive) tantrum.

And you are paying Frosh's salary while he is doing this.

I'll say one thing for this State, it's one of the most antagonistic of any State in the entire union. Maryland goes Sanctuary, then it enacts residential sprinkler legislation, it's got tree huggers out the gazoo, it's got citizens that practically burn down the State's largest city, Baltimore, it's got corrupt cops that pray on its own citizens, it taxes rainwater, stormwater, you name it and Maryland taxes it. And to top it off we have a plethora of gay politicians. Does it sound familiar? Sodom & Gomorrah revisited!

I noticed the article below this one says, 'Former attorney sentenced to 7 years in prison for money laundering'

All I have to say is that I wish Maryland's Attorney General would join the Virginia AG in the Federal Pen. Frosh has done irreparable harm to Maryland citizens and it ought not be allowed.
