The White House just announced some new ideas to help rebuild rural America. One of which is for infrastructure - which would include internet broadband.
Whatever happened to the local company - that was funded by Federal, State and local funds - that was supposed to improve our internet connections.
Every damn day, around 3:00 - just when kids are getting out of school - the internet speeds around Salisbury grind to a screeching halt! What gives??? I get better speeds on my cell phone when I travel to metro areas better than I do with my home and office PC in the afternoon. It's a scam!

Secretary Perdue is right—and he wisely points out that President Donald J. Trump’s infrastructure plan would steer the Nation back toward prosperity, “particularly in rural America.”
Here is how:
- President Trump’s plan allocates $50 billion, a quarter of all Federal funds in the plan, to empower rural America to address the infrastructure needs of its communities.
- The plan will give states the flexibilityto address the unique needs of their rural residents without a flurry of bureaucratic commands from Washington.
- The Rural Infrastructure Programwill build upon efforts the Administration has already undertaken to expand broadband access in rural America.
“We have to make sure American farmers and their families, wherever they may be, wherever they may go, have the infrastructure projects that they need to compete and grow,” President Trump said.

Just got a flyer for bloosurf in the mail yesterday. Went online to check them out and the reviews were horrible. Just one of the things you have to love with in the country
I believe it was actually the Maryland Broadband Co-Operative not Bloosurf.
Bloosurf are crooks. Can’t beleive they’re still in business. Basically just reselling Comcast internet service.
Bloosurf got $3,000,000 in grant money to do its thing on Delmarva. Problem is, there aren't enough towers to accommodate the rural areas of the nearby counties.

They are talking about Maryland Broadband Cooperative which is a non profit who got taxpayer money and no one knows a thing about them other than they were supposed to bring broadband to rural maryland
Once again Fruitland left out but not on very high taxes.
Problem with bloosurf is they don't service the "rural" areas. 90% of where it is available is already serviced by cable or verizon dsl. I even tried eith a 40 foot tower and couldn't receive a signal. My house is less than 2 miles from the transmitter, but no line of sight. It was a waste of money and does not service those it was supposed to. Only paid nice salaries to those that hot in on it.
If Maryland Broadband was supposed to bring better internet to this area, why haven't they done it.

Internet speeds suck around here. We have Comcast and they say they have the fastest speeds. But whey you go to other parts of the country, the speeds are much faster.

Congress gave cable companies BILLIONS in taxpayer money to establish a countrywide broadband network. They took the money and ran. Now I'm sure we'll see some donations from telecom giants on our congressman's taxes..
