The G.O.P.'s tax overhaul, a decades-long goal, is almost done. The Senate approved it, and the House just has to sign off on small changes

Republicans took a critical step toward notching their first significant legislative victory since assuming full political control, as the House and Senate voted along party lines on Tuesday and into early Wednesday to pass the most sweeping rewrite of the tax code in decades.

The $1.5 trillion tax bill, which is expected to head to President Trump’s desk in the coming days, will have broad effects on the economy, making deep and lasting cuts to corporate taxes as well as temporarily lowering individual taxes.

It still allows people to get back more than they put in...and they added some bribes to get some votes...maybe someone will come up with a bipartisan bill to fix what everyone else agrees is still screwed up!

The devil is in the details. Since I live in a high tax state, I am worried that instead of tax relief, it will be a tax increase because we won't be able to include the states taxes that we pay. Also worried, will our state taxes in Maryland as well as other states now go up more because of this?
