Data: Every 2 New Immigrants to the U.S. Bring 7 Foreign Relatives with Them

Every two new immigrants to the United States bring roughly seven foreign relatives with them, creating an enormous, never-ending flow of family-based immigration.

Previously unreleased data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reveals the number of foreign relatives who enter the U.S. simply because their family member is an immigrant, in a process known as “chain migration.”

According to the data, chain migration is the largest driver of legal immigration, with every two new immigrants bringing seven foreign relatives with them to the U.S., making up more than 70 percent of the current immigration system.

Currently, only one in 15 foreign nationals admitted to the U.S. come to the country based on skills and employment.

Not to mention all the money they wire out of our economy to the rest of their families abroad.

Then once they are here they multiply like rabbits! Don't believe me, just visit Walmart and sit in the parking lot and watch!

Stupid headline. Of course the relatives are foreign, just as the immigrants themselves are.

5:45...the key word you left out is "illegal" immigrants. Those are the ones that drain our American citizens earned benefits, taxes, etc. A large percent of us are trying to do for our own blood and simply can't afford to pay for every stranger in town. I help people that need something when I am familiar and will continue to do so. But I know what I can do and don't need the government to take my money and spend it for me. I would probably give a illegal something if I could do so without harm to myself. You get my drift? I am sick of the freebies handed out by the government. Their job is to protect us, not hurt us financially.

Hard to believe. My wife's sister has been trying to come to the United States for years and they keep denying her. These "immigrants" are refugees. I see them everywhere. Saw some last night in Wal Mart, trying to pay for their purchase with a credit card. They got aggravated when it would not be accepted. Then one of them pulled out another credit card and it would not work. Then another one reached into her purse and pulled out a handful of cash and paid for it. The women could not speak English and the man only broken English. They were from some African country. Why is it so easy for these people to bring an entire family into America, and where do they get those cards and that much cash? These people become a burden on the U.S. taxpayer as soon as their feet hit American soil. People from other countries do not have that luxury. Except the illegals our government allows to stay here. Wish Americans were treated that well.
