Eastern Shore judicial nominating commission chair John Phoebus steps down after traffic incident

The chairman of the judicial nominating commission for Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties has stepped down after being charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision in Crisfield on Friday night.

Based on John's performance he probably told the victim " Ill call you, I'm working on it, real busy can't talk now, I'm very good I got you or his famous, I'm really sorry for not calling but I'm soooooo busy with cycling" so in John's mind he didn't do anything wrong.

And well he should step down. I read the article on WBOC or Daily Times that stated that he drifted into the other lane of traffic and struck a car but he considered it a private matter and didn't think he had to stay there. And yet, in this "private matter," he did not even leave insurance information. He was probably drunk and decided to do as most "hit and run" drives do. Run. Now he wants to call it a "private matter." Bull! This man is a lawyer. He knows the law. He ran to avoid further damaging charges. I hope the judge takes his profession into account and throws the book at him. Freakin liar.
