Dune joyride goes 20 blocks

Federalsburg driver says he can’t recall getting behind wheel

Daniel Silvers, 47, of Federalsburg, Maryland, told police he blames a mixture of prescription medication and alcoholic beverages consumed Saturday evening for a nearly 20-block joyride along the dunes between 118th Street and 99th Street when he was discovered early Sunday morning.

Police answered a report of a vehicle on the beach at almost 6 a.m. Sunday, where Pfc. Adam Lapinski discovered Silvers apparently asleep behind the wheel of the still-running Ford Explorer that was stuck in reverse. Lapinski saw the front bumper was missing and the front fender was damaged on the passenger’s side.

Moron...he blames the drugs and the booze but not the idiot that consumed them . Sounds like another liberal. Always someone or something else's fault.

The blame goes to the imbiber, not the imbibed.

Well, a friend and I drove 15 blocks on the boardwalk, started at Thrashers and kept going) in his old station wagon, way back in 1974. Right before our high school graduation. Laughing all the way. Finally a cop pulled up onto the boardwalk behind us, and "pulled" us over. Got a $15.00 ticket and don't even remember what for. It was funny as can be. The cop was even laughing, he did not know what to do. It was early, and no one was on or around the boardwalk..
Cop had to follow us all the way back to Thrashers so we could get back onto the road. Still laugh about it today!
