You got it right , hit the nail on the head. Must rum in the Maryland college format , UMES is the same except they don't have an entrance exam , if you chew gum and walk at the same time you get a BS degree of course you have to protest somewhere.

It's a shame that Salisbury University doesn't make local students a priority. After all they are consuming the city.

Hahaha. I bet you couldnt get in.

6:34 Must be why you didn't get in. Now off to your non-skilled job with no benefits. LMAO.

8:31 The local students that are truly smart leave the area to attend college/university. Most never return until they have made enough money to not need to be an employee around here.

Funny pic. It's been traveling around social media the past month.

As for SU, I graduated there in the 80's. I'm not sure my grades coming out of high school 35 years ago, would get me into SU now.

I believe they receive about 8,000 applications each year, for about 2,000 spots.

Average SAT scores at SU are higher than the Maryland and national average. It's tough school academically to get into.

In my little corner of the world, I could probably name at least a couple dozen local kids currently attending SU.

A college degree doesn't guarantee success. It's all about working your ass off, and not settling for your current situation, if you're not happy where you are.

Don't like the path your on....change it. It can be scary, but nobody is holding you back except yourself. Take a leap.

There are great college students at S.U. from the local area !

Well said 11:25.....I also know several local kids attending SU but the entrance process is a bit tough! Your summary of work was also spot on, you as an individual must make the first move for change.

Book smarts, memorizing stuff other people tell you, understanding tab A goes into slot B.

That's all well and good, and higher learning can be a good thing but it is not the catch-all or end-all.

It takes much more than that to be any kind of success.

Just look at the many millionaires who didn't even finish high school, much less college. A romp on college might help you "work smarter, not harder", but to be successful one has to work hard. These knuckleheads who come right out of college think they will automatically be made CEO of a company, with bennies of course.

But at least nowadays you have a better chance of getting that job than you did for 8 years under Obama. Now, thanks to Trump there are much more jobs out there and more created every day. Not to mention that the stock market keeps breaking records each day.

Keep that in mind when all you smart college kids keep crying Killary didn't win.

9:35 Without a degree or post undergrad degree, there is zero chance of having a job where you get paid for thinking versus working with your hands. There are plenty of great jobs with benefits, 3-4 weeks paid vacation, paid sick time, paid personal time but they don't exist on the shore.
