Governor Hogan, We The People Of The Eastern Shore Do In Fact Have A Voice

Love us or hate us, Salisbury News enjoys over 2,000,000 hits per month on average and have achieved more than 54,000,000 hits. Unlike the rest of the local media and hobby blogs, we are unsurpassed any more and guess what, the mass majority of the Eastern Shore voted for Larry Hogan and while we may not control a state election, while the rest of every other media source endorsed Brown for Governor, I'd say we delivered incredible political influence in your becoming Governor of Maryland.

That being said, hear me now and hear me very clear. I was not pleased when you removed the confederate tags in Maryland. I was not pleased one bit when you ran away from endorsing Donald Trump for President. Now you have once again jumped of the wrong tracks with the monument in Annapolis, therefore we, (Salisbury News) can no longer support you as our Governor.

You Sir, need to concentrate on JOBS, Economic Development, Drugs and Crime and STOP opening your big mouth on matters the mass majority who voted for you hold no concern over.

As of this day we will no longer publish your press releases and/or appointments. From this day forward, we will simply publish our views of your conduct from this point forward. We, (like many on President Trumps panels) will distance ourselves from your platform as we do not believe you have our best interests at heart any longer.

Should you win your next term as Governor it will be based on the Liberal Party and their agenda to destroy our state and national history. You said in your earlier message we published today that you came from a business background, not a political background. Well, you sure fooled all of us!

Here. Here. I'll second that! Hogan is more concerned about some Social Justice nonsense that's ginned up from Lunatic fringe liberals and Fake Protesters. He can go join them. He's not getting my vote, you can take that to the bank!

Curly hogan must go

As many of you know I am a very conservative republican. I strongly believe in solid support of my party. HOWEVER, when you are a Larry Hogan or John Cannon, (RINO's) I will part my ways immediately.

Anonymous said...

I abstained from the last gubernatorial election because I knew Hogan was just a Rhino. He won't put his big boy pants on deal with Baltimore. And has he really fixed our economic problems. NOT.....Of sates rated on insolvency Maryland is 4th. That's 4th from the bottom. Only California, Illinois, and Connecticut are worse. When I read his letter earlier on this blog I just had to laugh. He is just as full of hot air as our boy mayor.

Here, Here!!

I just can't see myself voting for him a second time around. He hasn't done his due diligence to keep his campaign promises and the whole Trump thing has never sat well with me. I hope another Republican primaries him out.

Stop teaching kids history. Let them all flunk out of school. What difference does it make. If you take that statue down in Annapolis, you remove any chance of understanding what it was that made Taney a piece of HISTORY, good or bad.

Anonymous said...

Amen, Clearly Hogan would rather bow to the racial ignorance of a false knowledge of History to simply garnish racial votes {sad gamble} He has zero dignity and respect for himself, History, the State, nor the civil citizens of this State!

Anonymous said...

WOW! What a gutsy public statement. Thanks you very much. Now find us someone who can defeat Matthias in the next election.

Concerned Retiree said...

I agree whole heartedly with this article. I have sent his news alerts / letters to junk mail for months. Glad someone else has realized what I have been saying for at least the last year. I will always vote but I may have to leave the Governor slot blank.

Anonymous said...

Larry, WE THE PEOPLE voted Trump in over the cacophony of the R's and D's of the Old School politicians. He got in by having the kahunas to call a crook a crook.

You, not so much. You had better change your priorities real fast if you want any votes from Conservatives of any color. We will remember this move you made!

We need a bill board on this side of Bay Bridge on the East bound side stating "Hogan turn around You are not wanted on the Eastern Shore". Make that at Kent Narrows so he has an immediate exit to return. Would be even better if they were all the way to Salisbury on RT 50 from now until election time, so he will not be able to say he was unaware of the bill boards.

JoeAlbero said...

I, like 95% of you, do not endorse or support Taney in any way. However, it doesn't mean seeing that image will hurt me in any way either. In fact, it would remain as a reminder of just how far we've come as an incredible country. I am firmly against "everyone gets a trophy" or the rest of this Liberal agenda.

I'll give you the best financial tip of your life. Buy stock in BUBBLE WRAP so you can protect yourself for the rest of your life. That's where we're headed as a country and frankly I don't like it.

Anonymous said...

Loved Trumps press conference! Finally honesty.

Anonymous said...

Gunna need more than bubble wrap. What we're witnessing is the new playbook rules. After the the liberal progressive communist politicians manipulate and violate the laws. They will let civil discourse and violence play out, manipulating ignorance to instill more violence and bloodshed, ordering law enforcers of public safety to stand down. Jurisprudence anyone? Afterwards they'll stroll the LEO's in for a few charges to a few survivors {pretending their upholding the laws}They've been doing this all along with criminals and felons by releasing them faster than they can arrest and process them, the next chapter is the masses...
The ONLY way to stop this chapter is to bring serious accountability to these politicians....and better make it fast as its snowballing rapidly now.

Anonymous said...

Oh great a martin luther king frederick douglas or harriet tubman will go in place of all these statues SMH

Anonymous said...

I feel the same way. He started out strong and then who knows why he has changed. I was very disappointed that he did not support Trump. Trump is America. He gets it.

Anonymous said...

I support Governor Hogan. He is a common sense Republican who understands "hey, this person is a historical figure, but not someone worth memorializing." He is representing all Marylanders and I for one am proud of this. I don't agree with everything he does, but that's because I don't follow ideology. I will say he has been very effective as a minority party governor.

Anonymous said...

You think crime is bad now? Wait until his Justice Reinvestment Act hits full force. Letting everyone out of jail and no accountability if they screw up. Gonna be bad. He's just hoping to get through to the next election before the chickens come home to roost.

Anonymous said...

GOOD JOB.

Anonymous said...

Hogan you are TOAST.

Anonymous said...

Why is it that every time a perceived racial incident occurs politicians search for Confederate Monuments to remove?

Anonymous said...

Dear Joe et. at.,

I have been reading all posts about destroying, moving, and deleting all monuments to our past southern history. I was a big fan of "Gone With The Wind" books and movie. But, because the movie and book cast the confederate cause in a sympathetic and even romantic light I think that the movie "Gone With The Wind" should be banned and any network who airs this atrocity should be charged with a crime. All books titled "Gone With The Wind" should be burned immediately since it describes the South and therefor the Confederacy as people who believed in a cause as heretics. In the 1940's the Nazis also banned and burned books that did not agree with their philosophy. They also destroyed art, music, literature, and ideology that did not agree with theirs. I would submit that we do the same and have a book burning and art burning that glorifies any hint of southern pride and also a literature burning that involves any type of sympathy toward southern or confederat leaders.

Anonymous said...

I've said on this blog for about a year. Hogan is a RINO and absolutely no way I will vote for him again. If he loses the Eastern Shore, He will not be govenor again.
Same goes for Andy Harris. I will not support him again.

Anonymous said...

Why don't they remove all Confederate Monuments at the same time? It's called pacification. Give the dog a bone to get a vote. I pray to God they wake up.

Anonymous said...

Hogan you won't get my vote.bye bye

Anonymous said...

I applaud the decision. Hogan has gone out of his way to not offend the liberal A@@ wipes and should be ashamed of himself for allowing the thugs running Baltimore to get away with what happened during the riots.

Obama Crooked Bastardo said...

I agree with Joe on a lot of things, but not on this one. Hogan is not perfect by any means, but lets not forget the fact the majority if the Maryland house in Annapolis is blue. I agree Hogan needs to do more for the Eastern Shore, and we need to remind him of that. Nobody could fix the state in 2 years after 8 years of O'Malley's destruction, I know, Hogan is better than any Democ-rat from Annapolis. Is there another strong candidate? Or are we willing to give up on Hogan and let Democ-rats put another of their career politicians in?

Anonymous said...

You will end up with 8-12 more years of democrat governors if you fail to re-elect Hogan. Just sayin.

Anonymous said...

I will not support any one who turns a blind eye to history. There is no telling where ignorance stops and common sense prevails.

Anonymous said...

But wait a minute, doesn't Harriet Tubman remind us all of slavery and the civil war...can we get it removed as well....hell,they just built a park outside of Cambridge ....oh wait,it doesn't fit the current narrative..

Anonymous said...

I agree that Hogan is not a real conservative. He has done nothing about the ridiculous Maryland gun laws and he has never supported Trumph. It would be nice to have a real conservative as governor.

Anonymous said...

A no vote for Hogan will be a yes vote for a democratic governor next election.

Anonymous said...

Hogan, we need manufacturing jobs, period. Work on that.

Pandering to these BLM, Alt Right, whatever factions thriving on destroying free speech and expression is total BS on your part and does nothing positive for anyone. There is way too much racial tension today to dive in and be a part of it, just let it go and do your job.

FU on your latest BS.

Anonymous said...

Dear larry hoggan, i know support eastetn shore libs no will never vote for you no never jobs jobs roads buildings !!! You know get obamas minions out

Anonymous said...

Look, there is more here than pure politics. It survival. Not different than on the local level when politicians sit around on their hands with not a word uttered as the ship goes down. Where are those that ran on a jobs and crime platform? Not a peep out of them when Jake Day goes after business and ignores crime. Too afraid. First rule is don't risk the negative which effectively has neutered any public criticism of his agenda.
They all desperately need to grow a set.
Considering not voting for anyone who doesn't call out Day or who needs the job

9:18 You should read the economic report for MD. Business is booming just not on the shore. It never will be what it once was. The shore is stuck in a 30 year time warp. Old ideas, beliefs and a refusal to adapt to the modern way of life. That doesn't mean that all the people are bad, just that you have held yourselves back and can't make up the ground. It's too late.

Anonymous said...

I was totally satisfied with President Donald J. Trump's statement about the violence in Charlottesville on Saturday. He rightfully condemned the hatred that exists in many groups. His statement was strong and unifying. I don't believe it was necessary for him to come out again today and specifically condemn white supremacists, neo-Nazis, etc. It didn't even sound like the president's words. The same people calling on Trump to condemn specific groups did NOT hold Obama to the same standard when Black Lives Matter and Antifa thugs attacked police and white Trump supporters. There are many on the left, and in the establishment, who hate President Trump. There is nothing he can say or do to satisfy them. Keep on keepin’ on, Mr. President. The good and decent American people are with you

Anonymous said...

I wish people could get past the hype that has been given to these memorials and instead look at them as a reminder of what great men did in defense of their ideals in context of the time they lived in and learn the lessons of history instead of trying to erase them.

WE THE PEOPLE said...

Let's all part ways with him. I agree with you and can not stay silent while our history is erased. Trump is correct, what or who will be next with these left wing idiots and their RINO support? Even with a majority of Govenorships, Representatives, Senators, and even the White House we conservatives don't stand a chance when we have leftist liberal RINOs like McCain (AZ-Rino), Murkowski(AK-Rino), Collins(ME-Rino), Hogan(MD-Rino).. Republicans are dooming their own party and our history as well... I Regret my support for Hogan..

Anonymous said...

There is absolutely NOTHING original out of our same ole political class. Simpletons. Same faces, same results.

Anonymous said...

Very well said.

Anonymous said...

Finally...the voice of common sense appears!

Anonymous said...

And it's your right to support him but its my right not to.

Anonymous said...

I really don't care if you vote him out and get stuck with decades of another O'Malley type democrat governor. I'm no longer a MD resident for tax purposes. You will get stuck with the tax and spend policies not me. Be careful of what you wish for, you might just get it.

Anonymous said...

Well said. Thank you. Hogan has lost this conservative vote.

Anonymous said...

I'd rather have Hogan in than a DEMS-A-RAT - ANY and EVERY DAY!! Key is how to get Hogan to listen to the shore. We are his cash cow every summer and last I checked the only place to hit a politico is in their pocket book!

957 mentioned a 30 year time warp for us - which is very true. WE all need to start looking around at those who are suppose to have our best interest and start holding THEM accountable! Councilwomen/men; school reps, MAYORs, Supervisors, et al! Its not just the Hogan's and Mathis's of the world folks - others are indeed involved!

Anonymous said...

Hogan already lost my vote a few years ago. Completely avoids the 2nd amendment issue in the state of Maryland. He is digging himself a hole and will most likely not be re-elected. I agree with Mr. Albero when he claims Governor Hogan is focused on the wrong topics in politics. Blows my mind how people are so blinded. Oh Jake Day myself and others plan on moving from the Salisbury area soon thanks to your failed leadership. Commence operation Little Baltimore.

Anonymous said...

Hogan has to reach over into the lunatic SJW crowd to get votes because he will leave the conservatives in the dust. RINO.

Anonymous said...

I firmly disagree with this statement. I am rather conservative as well; however, I have learned over the years to pick and choose the values that I prefer to hold firm. I have also realized that my strong views may be good for me, but not necessarily good for the State or Country as a whole. A vast majority of Hogan's success in the State of Maryland stems from the fact that he does the same. Notice what Hogan has focused on and what he hasn't. He has put a lot of effort into Maryland's economy, jobs, infrastructure, government efficiency - the things that truly matter. He hasn't gotten himself tied up into the controversial issues like pot, gay marriage and gun rights - all the issues that the left always seems to bait the right with at any chance. Personally, I don't think pot should be legal, but it's not that big of a deal to me. I really don't care if a man marries a man or a woman marries a woman; it's not my problem. And I am 'OK' with Maryland's gun laws so long as they don't get any worse. Sure the purchasing process is a bit more elaborate, but I have been able to buy and keep the guns I want and was even able to procure my carry permit.

Hogan has conservative values, but doesn't hold a hard right line. He is willing to cross the line to do what is best for Maryland. It's called COMPROMISE and that is exactly how you get things done when a state is overwhelmingly controlled by democrats. So he tore down some statues, so what? It is a very petty task that keeps people from arguing over an issue that really doesn't affect the day-to-day lives of Marylanders. It may have even bolstered support from people who opposed him.

Now, I'm not a fan of "erasing" history, but let's face the facts here. Lee was a Virginian who barely crossed into MD and PA to fight the Union. Jackson was another Virginian that hardly made it into Maryland as well. Neither one really has a place in Maryland history. Taney should have never been memorialized to begin with. There is a place for everything and I do not believe that Maryland is the place for these monuments. They could stay or go, but at the end of the day, I really don't care.

Hogan has done so much for the State of Maryland already and like I stated above, it is because he focuses on the REAL issues, not petty BS. I'll gladly trade a few statues for economic progress in Maryland.

Anonymous said...

Looks like i'll be sitting out the next election for governor. Hogans true colors are showing. R on the outside but D to the core.

Anonymous said...

While I may very well not vote FOR Hogan this time, he may get my vote anyway. Until last year I only voted for a candidate once (Reagan). Since then I have merely been voting AGAINST the other guy.

Obama Crooked Bastardo said...

9:03 I can very much agree with that statement. I keep Hogan Any Day over Any Democ-rats.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps you are willing to back up your pie in the sky by citing specific quantifiable economic and business success here on the Lower Shore.

Other than free tuition, new (un-needed ) schools, opioid and marijuana programs, property sales to landlords and overpaid unfunded liabilities for government and public "servants

Well Joe, looks like I'm right again. I made some comments about Hogan and his wishy-washiness and it seemed I'd blasphemed God. I stand by them and on your boat I'm NOT going to vote for Him again. I could see he's not the man for the job as he started to turn suit against the party early on in the onset of his term. Now you see him for what he really is. If ANYONE believes he 'CARES' for the Eastern Shore then they need professional counseling right away.

9:08 From your mouth to god's ears. It is a shame that so many around here aren't able to process information and reach a similar conclusion. Far too many can only base their political position one or two issues rather than the totality of the situation. Again, vote him out and you will get a democratic governor. Google MD governors and look at MD's history of republican governors. Slimmer than a crackhead with an unlimited supply.

Anonymous said...

hey Joe check into this....is there something to this? maybe this can be a tool to stop this from happening...altho its already to late for Baltimore. I would like to know what they did with those monuments. Did they move them to a cemetery as promised by the Mayor or did they get destroyed? American Antiquities Act of 1906
16 USC 431-433

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That any person who shall appropriate, excavate, injure, or destroy any historic or prehistoric ruin or monument, or any object of antiquity, situated on lands owned or controlled by the Government of the United States, without the permission of the Secretary of the Department of the Government having jurisdiction over the lands on which said antiquities are situated, shall, upon conviction, be fined in a sum of not more than five hundred dollars or be imprisoned for a period of not more than ninety days, or shall suffer both fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.
Sec. 2. That the President of the United States is hereby authorized, in his discretion, to declare by public proclamation historic landmarks, historic and prehistoric structures, and other objects of historic or scientific interest that are situated upon the lands owned or controlled by the Government of the United States to be national monuments, and may reserve as a part thereof parcels of land, the limits of which in all cases shall be confined to the smallest area compatible with proper care and management of the objects to be protected: Provided, That when such objects are situated upon a tract covered by a bona fied unperfected claim or held in private ownership, the tract, or so much thereof as may be necessary for the proper care and management of the object, may be relinquished to the Government, and the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized to accept the relinquishment of such tracts in behalf of the Government of the United States.
Sec. 3. That permits for the examination of ruins, the excavation of archaeological sites, and the gathering of objects of antiquity upon the lands under their respective jurisdictions may be granted by the Secretaries of the Interior, Agriculture, and War to institutions which the may deem properly qualified to conduct such examination, excavation, or gathering, subject to such rules and regulation as they may prescribe: Provided, That the examinations, excavations, and gatherings are undertaken for the benefit of reputable museums, universities, colleges, or other recognized scientific or educational institutions, with a view to increasing the knowledge of such objects, and that the gatherings shall be made for permanent preservation in public museums.
Sec. 4. That the Secretaries of the Departments aforesaid shall make and publish from time to time uniform rules and regulations for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act.

Than you just helped to hand the seat to a liberal.

Anonymous said...

Have heard the excuse all week that Hogan did this to placate the liberals in the urban areas. Our history is being trashed to get votes for a temporary elected position? If he doesn't have the character to stand up for what's right on these issues, how can you really trust he's doing right by the state in the big ticket items like economy? Jobs haven't been in abundance in Salisbury so we know it's not been manifesting here. Wake up people. Anyone who would tear apart your history for votes is not worth voting for. Republicans should offer up another Republican for the primary and get a rino like Hogan out. He's just a knee-jerk player.

Anonymous said...

Hogan could have done a better job. Although he has helped to roll back bridge tolls, and eliminated the BAT's systems throughout the State - in other areas State government bureaucracy has actually grown. And Hogan has helped to promulgate these occurrences - such as escalation of utility rates, and, by not rolling back EPA regs, Department of Energy Regs, and other President Trump economic initiatives.

And so - I among many others - will be looking for a better Republican Governor candidate for the upcoming Maryland election.

Anonymous said...

He is doomed to be a one term Governor because of his RINO tendencies! I wish I had my vote back. He is just another liberal in disguise, part of a group that is intent on destroying our country and our way of life.
