Put a chain link fence around it then it will noticed by officials.
Just a bit over dramatic on the "get killed by it" but it should be cleaned up within a reasonable amount of time.
BTW, who did you contact about it?
Do you think maybe road damage is first on the list, recreational walking trails come later?
Submit a ticket through the county website. Post the results.
Just idea but walk around it. No doubt they voted clinton.

You use the trails more than most, take a saw and get some exercise cleaning it up yourself.

10:50 AM Stupid comment of the day. I guess if we all could we would. I got an idea. you go out there and see it for yourself. The fresh air will help regenerate some new brain cells.
If you took time to write this, you probably have time to grab a saw and do it yourself. Maybe the park rangers don't walk along that path.
Simple remedy, just bring a chainsaw with you whenever you visit the park and feel free to cut up the fallen limbs and push them to the side of the path. Not big pieces, just small pieces, they're easier to push/pull.

I bet if Lewis and Clark came upon this obstacle they would have turned around and headed for home.
It's a public park and not the spot for DIY chainsaw practice or attempts. DIY types could be injured and without anyone around to assist.
Pic and perhaps a GPS tag should be directed to Park office or Parks Dept. for remedy.
They may have volunteer opportunities so inquire.

4:10 PM No it is not. It split and it hanging/attached to part of the trunk still standing. Hence the hazard. If it slips as it ages and someone is crawling under it to get past it, and it falls off, it will squash the person.
If you look at the photo you will see the right side is still elevated.
I completely agree. Get together with other trail walkers and get it done.

My wife and I have gone over/under it. It's on the woodland (think that's the name) trail. The termites have taken it over so badly you can hear them inside and can watch the sawdust falling. This tree is an inconvenience but certainly not a hazard.
If you are so upset by it fix it yourself. That's the only way things get done anymore anyway.

That would be true, if they actually fixed roads!
NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED............Be careful you may be doing a good deed by taking a chainsaw to help the park but it could turn into someone had a chainsaw and you could end up in jail! They might not ask why you are at the park with a chainsaw....... JUST OFF TO JAIL YOU GO!
The parks dept has plenty of staff with nothing to do, maybe one of them could clean this mess up before heading to royal farms, wawa, or the liquor store this morning
