Great job officers. Your training was a God sent in helping to recognize the true situation. Take care our Blues - Stay Safe

And apparently crime is at an all time low.

8:40.....and isn't that a good thing !!!

8:40 PM It wasn't a crime. It was an unstable teenager who is suffering from depression. If you had a clue and viewed his facebook page he had been struggling for awhile.

Ignorant comments aren't necessary in this case.

so - Officer fired a round, "missing" the nut job, who obviously wanted to commit suicide by poice officer? Am I reading this correct?

9:46 PM yea. I know, my thoughts too. I started to type a comment and then deleted it.

Doesn't matter tho, even if he killed the unarmed kid the "internal review" would have justified it.

20 years on the force, he has seen too much.

There is a recording of 911 call and video from policemen's body cams on the internet. The teen did have mental issues but instead of making rude comments, "thank and praise the LEO" and then thank and praise God that the "nut job" was not of your flesh and blood.

Per Duncan...."the outcome is a result of their outstanding training". Really? You train officers to miss when they shoot? The outcome was different BECAUSE HE MISSED WHEN HE SHOT!!! He INTENDED to kill the guy. The ONLY reason he didn't is because he missed the shot. Don't credit training, professionalism or any other "buzzword". The only reason it ended peacefully is because he missed when he shot!!! That's the OPPOSITE of "outstanding training". What a spin master!!'

What is the difference between a Trooper and an SPD Officer? Troopers don't miss when they shoot!!!

Did you cop haters ever think that maybe, just maybe, he intentionally missed, I don't think the cops really want to kill people. I believe I would have aimed for his knee, legs or foot and perhaps this officer did, we don't know. When you have to make split second decisions, it's hard especially when you're also thinking of consequences. Quit putting police officers down and try backing them up for the job they are doing. It's hard to be in their shoes these days with all the drugs out there and never knowing what they are going to get involved in from the time a call comes in until its over. I appreciate that they are out there trying to do their job even though they are constantly ridiculed for what they do.

Thanks Mr Albero for posting the all the jokers comments who were not on scene to know what happened. SBYNews deserves the prize for disrespect.

8:59, I know, we should censor ALL comments and take away every one's 1st Amendment rights just to accommodate YOU. Look, I/We don't agree with many of the comments that come through and in fact many times, (just as I have here) I will come on here and voice my own opinion. Get a life. Let me guess, you are the guy that walks around Salisbury completely wrapped in bubble wrap?

I'll add, clearly the Mayors staff of six have been sending in tons of comments supporting the SPD on this matter. We have published these comments. So it's OK for us to publish YOUR comments but everyone else with an opposing opinion should be deleted. Very interesting!

Everybody always bust on the cops when they miss. I'm sure most peoples marksmanship greatly decreases when they are about to be shot. Pellet gun or not, at that instance you don't know that.

Don't ya know they meant to miss. That's the story they are gonna stick to.

He intentionally missed lol. It is called shooter remorse. There was some question in Rick's mind if he felt this guy was a true threat he would be dead. No Rick did not miss on purpose. Babs loves her some Rick anyway. He was safe if he shot six people.
