Perdue Farms Names Kelly Fladger VP of Human Resources Services and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer

SALISBURY, MD.  — Randy Day, Chief Executive Officer of Perdue Farms, is pleased to announce that Kelly Fladger, Vice President of Human Resources Services, has assumed additional responsibility as the company’s first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.

In this expanded role, Kelly will be responsible for providing executive leadership in guiding a comprehensive range of services, policies and procedures related to diversity and inclusion excellence across the organization.

“At Perdue Farms, we take pride in the diversity of our workforce and remain committed to creating an inclusive work environment,” said Day. “I’m confident that we will benefit from Kelly’s leadership in creating a workforce that parallels the constituencies whose quality of life we strive to enhance through great food and agricultural products, and whose trust we seek to earn.”

“Diversity and inclusion are critical to who we are as company,” said Fladger. “Our people are as diverse as our products and are representative of the communities in which we operate. I am honored to have been entrusted with leading our Inclusion Council and advance our dialogues around diversity and inclusion, and creating an environment of inclusion among our stakeholders.”

Kelly joined Perdue Farms in September 2016 as VP of HR Services. Prior to Perdue, he was Vice President of People Strategy and Corporate Human Resources for Belk in Charlotte, N.C. From 1998 to 2014, he served in HR capacities of increasing responsibility to include Vice President of HR Global Functions and Chief Diversity Officer for Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. As a result of his leadership, Coca-Cola garnered recognition for its diversity and inclusion programs to include the Georgia Multicultural Leadership Award from the National Diversity Council; the French Diversity Label, the 2013 European Diversity Team of the Year Award, a Diversity Journal honorable mention Innovation in Diversity Award, and a 2014 Leader In Diversity Award.

Kelly graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Whites should not apply. That is basically what this is called... How about the best qualified person gets the job?

Why was a white person discriminated against for this position ?

It's more about the LGBT agenda being pushed than race.

I'm pleased to see an African American in this position but it's time someone did something about all the low paid positions many held by blacks in this company. They are paid slave wages with no hope of ever getting out of poverty because of liberal immigration policies. The democrats say they stand for the little guy but of course being democrats everything they say is always a big lie. All democrats lie constantly. When you flood the country with unskilled workers many end up at the slaughter houses and this keeps the wages low. This is one of the major reasons why Salisbury is such a cess pool. When are people going to get this.

Private Businesses have the choice of promoting the most qualified. It is up to Perdue officials to make promotions not the smarta$$ public demented.

Why do you think that there was?

Recently the Inclusion Council had a retirement seminar put on by the POW(Perdue Organization for Women), which men may join as well. They picked a woman financial advisor to speak. Let's see? They excluded male financial advisors, have an organization for women(and none for men, gays, hispanics, Pollacks, Jews, or Arabs. It is more like an exclusion council.

"How about the best qualified person gets the job?"

Did you read his work history? It's right there in paragraph #5. Looks like he probably IS the best qualified for the job.

Self inflicted corporate parasite. Will contribute nothing but suck up resources.

Forced diversity and inclusiveness have been the downfall of many a company - just look at the federal government! Those that were brought in through quota programs in spite of their demonstrated lack of capabilities and qualifications are now in charge of all hiring - meaning that only lower qualified people can even get in to the system.

Great PR move for the liberal crowd - doesn't do much in the long run for the more qualified people in DelMarVa - or the company.

Looks like the liberals have taken over! Next, we'll see more recalls of their products due to QA issues!

The liberal Day's are in charge everywhere!

Newly created position for people with no skill set?

This guy went to the Citadel and was never in the Army? Wow! I would assume that he should have some discipline regardless from his college days.

So nice to see Perdue is now engaged in the flavor of the day subject matter! Good to know that even in the sticks they appear to be relevant and effectual. (Snarky glib intended)

Catching chickens is a low wage job if you want to make more money improve yourself. If you are making slave wages "slaves weren't paid btw" You shouldn't do low skilled work.

The white house the senate congress & most businesses do not look antiwhite around here, they just arent completely white. Is that your real grievance?

You are right. Your ancestors should have thought about that before they kept burning down and destroying black communities. If that tad bit of history hadn't happen, maybe the separate but equal theory would have worked and we d all been better off

How would you eat your chicken cordeon bleu? You should be thankfu to those who do it and they should not be looked at judgingly or as beneath you because they work for less. At least they work.

I may not be very smart compared to some of the Perdue people, but I could see these complaints coming from 1/2 mile away (my vision isn't all that great either).

Why have a public announcement for an "Inclusion Position" and promote a black man?

Why even bother? Perdue was just asking for it. NO, begging for it.

Oh well, good luck.

A selection was made for a private sector position. Doesn't matter if the selectee was qualified or not as long as PERDUE chicken sells.

Oh, don't think wages are going to change just because a person of color was hired. Again, this is PRIVATE INDUSTRY. The same ones who can hire you today and give you the keys to a BMW, then fire and take those keys from you Friday. With nothing you can do about it!

You are solely misinformed if you think otherwise!!!

Like father like son, when you have a personal agenda and a position doesn't exist just create one. Perdue: chief adversity and inclusion officer. City of Salisbury: public works coordinator. Well at least we know for sure that apple didn't fall far from the tree. This gentleman should feel real welcomed outside of perdue's little upper management circle. Day's you gentleman are pretty hilarious

Just a big load of crap!!Perdue is diverse enough with all the minorities working there! In ten more years Perdue will be filing bankruptcy for all the diversity suing them for fake injuries, and imagined racism. Not to mention putting unqualified people in jobs based on race..look at the state government, they are the biggest example why this doesn't work!!!

Perdue has many black employees. Who knows if any white person even was qualified or applied for this position. Stop hating on this man, he was hired by the company. Get over it.
