Welcome to the longest day of the year! I heard the DJ on my radio station explain that today is when the Earth is closest to the sun, LOL! Hey, folks, it's Summer! Soon, it will be Winter. It will get cold then!

Just wow.

119 degrees in Phoenix yesterday. Wait until it's that hot in Salisbury.

It's called summer.

From Louisiana, can confirm. Sea level rising is alarming lol

Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years and have adapted to the world around them. If the little old liberals on the west coast can't handle the heat they should move...to Siberia preferably.

Why do people rubber-neck?

Apparently the quippy headline writer at this MSM is not a chief. The temperature may be hot but even water doesn't boil until 212 F, and a typical broiler is 500 - 550 F.

"I know it's called summer, but I want the Government to fix it!"

The high temperature record in Arizona is 128, set on June 29, 1994 at Lake Havasu City. Bill Clinton was in the White House.

The record high in Phoenix is 122, set in June, 1990. George Bush was president.

June and July are Arizona's hottest months, with temperatures over 115 common.

Weather patterns have been changing for thousands of years. There are many factors involved. I believe in doing what we can to produce cleaner air but people need jobs for food and shelter, too. So everyone should do their part, including the rich politicians using their lear jets to go to work (Pelosi comes to mind) and their fancy limos to take them from one block to another in DC. Such hypocrites!

@8:06am

Actually today is the longest day but not because the Earth is closest to the sun. That day is actually around January 4th when it is summer in the southern hemisphere also known as Perihelion. Aphelion or when the Earth is Farthest from the Sun is actually around July 4th.

The day light cycles are more correlated to the tilt of the earth as it travels around the sun.

The earth has been warming since the end of the "little ice age". We appear to now be going into a low solar period like the one that caused the little ice age.

Carbon dioxide has little or no effect on temperatures. Even if it had an effect, there is nothing that we can do about it with 6 billion people. Windmills and solar panels don't reduce human produced CO2. They just cause real sources of power to produce more.

9:19 go into a greenhouse, then fill it with CO2. Wear a respirator if you must. Then tell me it isn't hotter in that greenhouse the more CO2 you put in. But I jest, I'm sure the 4 articles you read online make you a more trustworthy source than the scientific community.

Just bc someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a "snowflake," cupcake! ;) can't you regurgitate something new sweetie pie 10:19?

Educate yourself.

it has only been a hundred years since the industrial revolution leading to the record number of vehicles burning gas and diesel that we have today. You can't say that won't have an effect on the atmosphere/earth.

6:27, the earth has been through a serious Ice Age more than a hundred years ago, so what the heck is your point? Climate changes drastically, and we are NOT in control! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age Been through an ice age 5 times so quit being stupid listening to Al Gore.

Oh, it was BEFORE we lit an oil flame...

@9:03 am, I knew all that, hence the "LOL". I thought everybody knew it was hot in summer and cold in winter, but thanks for the ignorance.

I thank god for climate change everyday! It actually gave us a planet suitable for human occupation. It has changed for millions, yes MILLIONS of years and will continue to change despite the worst efforts of left wing nutcases around the globe.
